You need a connection to start the game session as a seasonal character. As long as you don't quit out of that session, you can go offline and still play. Can still put the system to sleep, just can't go to 'Quit' while actually in the game and playing.

Got my Wizard to 28 today. Got some boss 2H weapon and hit a 12k crit? I think it was that high. I am just melting things so I may up the difficulty again. Not being able to bump it up in game is just mean.

Hey, sorry for being a nuisance but I'm new to this game (me and my girlfriend absolutely loving it so far) and I've got a couple of questions...

What do the little green plus signs on items mean? I'm guessing the sword is attack and the shield is defence?

More importantly, I'm trying to work out why I do a little bit of healing every time I attack an enemy. I did have a weapon which had lifesteal, but I upgraded to one without it and somehow I still get a little bit of health for killing enemies. I've checked all my skills and other gear and nothing seems to have lifesteal - so where is it coming from?? I'm a crusader, if that helps?

Anyways, having a total blast.

I can't access online multiplayer, does anyone else have this problem? In screenshots I'm seeing people have a "quick match" option on the main screen, but I don't. I have a Nintendo online subscription.

Is there some requirement for unlocking it?

No, they can randomly drop even in non-seasonal mode. But seasonal mode may have some exclusive items not available outside the mode.

Are hacked items a problem in this? I randomly joined a game on Xbox and a guy was using a hacked item that leveled me up like 100 levels in a single game and it kind of ruined the game for me since I didn't get to enjoy the progression.

Muhaha, finally something I can answer as a non-owner (yet). Yes yes you can, and it even supports single joy-cons. So with just 1 extra pair of joy-cons you can enjoy 4 player couch co-op mayhem on a single TV.

(This is my main reason for getting this game)

They were a problem with the PS4/XB1 versions because Blizzard let people with PS3s and 360's transfer saves so if they hacked their last gen saves it brought it over to next gen. Seasons fix that, which is why you need to go online for a check to make sure your save wasn't altered. It's most likely not going to be an issue with non seasonal on Switch because Switch has a brand new save file.

It needs a check every time you start a run? So it's not very good to do a seasonal character for a long plane flight?

Not yet, mostly because with the Switch you need to mod and install homebrew on it which can result in getting the console banned, i don't even know if it's even possible right now to grab a save file.
It's not the case on PS4 and Xbox one where you only need a PC. But if you want to be sure don't grab any items given by people you don't now.

I'm guessing you need the double cast Skeletal Mage ring? An easy way to get is to spend the shards on a lvl 1 Necromancer since the item pool is much smaller. It'll big terrible of course but you can at least cube and use something else until a good one does drop.

No, only every time you leave the game and start over. For example if you leave to bump up the difficulty, or change from campaign to adventure mode, etc. You can run numerous rifts, greater rifts all without getting logged out. Or even do a full set of bounty runs from all acts.

Curses don't seem to work properly. They'll work for a bit and then just stop. Quitting and restarting fixes it temporarily, but it keeps happening again for me at least.

Well the Unhollowed Essence set (from the season rewards) for DH is pretty damn strong and I did the full season journey on PC with it. Not sure what Wizards get this season but that's one thing to consider. I'm not a fan of leveling DH though, it can be kinda slow but ya just grind through it. And DH's are popular again because that multishot spam is just too good.

Yeah, I've read that the DH armor for this season is really good for solo grinding and the whole multishot thing. The wizard armor this season is Tal Rasha's Elements. I keep reading that the wizard is part of the four person meta this season, but I'm pretty casual so I might just go with the DH.

Should see the option once you've created your season character and start a new game. Middle option on the left should be adventure mode.

My biggest problem with Hardcore was that I never had the patience to grind from 0 there. I started with normal then usually got lazy "well, I have Gem of Ease now, plus Hellfire jewelry.."

Now, since I had to start from scratch I decided to just do it anyway. Got a few close calls but with two available cheat deaths it's not even that punishing. Plus, I got lucky with Haedric's Gift and got chest and legs ancient.

You just can't increase while your actually playing. Should be able to quit out and bump it up then start again. No loss of anything. :)
