Any point in keeping a Wii U after Smash Ultimate is out?

Netflix. Because apparently people don't have anything else that can play it.

The Wii U is a great little Nintendo box, both for its own titles, a Wii, and the virtual console.

I keep it for the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Backwards compatibility with Wii, ton of Wii games I've yet to beat.

It's honestly just for The Wonderful 101, really.

I have yet to play Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Fatal Frame so.. nope. Not yet. I also use the wii u as a netflix device for the family tv room.

As much as I loathe the hardware, it's still got Mario Maker, 3D World, and Wind Waker/Twilight Princess HD, so I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon.

Making the Wii U valuable even today.

With miiverse gone and most of its games ported or being ported soon, there's not much reason to own one now. Maybe a cool collector item in the future when everyone's forgotten about it and they're like, "there was a console called a Wii U?".

The Wii U still has games like Wonderful 101, Xenoblade X, #FE and Mario Maker. So unless you're cool with potentially never playing those again you can safely sell your Wii U.

Unless Switch 2 has touch controls and then gets Mario Maker, I'm keeping this thing, however much I want to clean house.

This is the only game keeping me from getting rid of my Wii U. If and when I ever do get around to finishing it, my Wii U will have finally outlived its usefulness.

My Wii's disc drive died, so my WIi U does double duty. Even if every single good Wii U game gets ported (and there are some holdouts, as noted in this thread,) I'll still never be able to part with it.

If you're not into the Wii U as a system, I don't really think anything I can say is going to change your mind. I still love my Wii U, and frequently play Mario Kart and Smash with my kid. Pikmin was great, Tokyo Mirage Sessions was great, Mario Maker and 3D World are great, Donkey Kong, Splatoon, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade X, Nintendo Land, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad, Bayonetta, and all the fucking Zelda games.

Why is this even a question? The system had a shorter lifespan, but it had a great first party lineup which is all most Nintendo systems usually matter for anyway. If all you played it for was Smash, you missed out.

Mine's in a closet but I occasionally think of all the Virtual Console games I have on it.

Assuming it releases on the Switch, the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker might have the better controls.

Whatever you do, don't sell it.

Not for me. I'm having fun with modded Smash Wii U, but once Ultimate's out, my Wii U is going into storage.

The Virtual Console alone makes the Wii U worth keeping.

Sold all my Wii U games aside from NintendoLand and 3D World. I only use it for it's superior internet browser (which I'm using right now).

Super Mario 3D World.

Its a top 3D Mario.

Couple exclusives but it's also the best Wii for playing Wii games

Smash Ultimate doesn't have Smash Tour. Everyone's favourite mode.

Wii U was a mistake

I still have a ton of games for it I will likely never finish but right now it's just a Netflix machine.

Harvest Moon 64 and Wii backwards compatibility are the only reasons I need to keep mine hooked up forever.

Came in to mention W101.

Mario maker has taken a dive since the Switch released, but it's still OK.. Needs to be re-released on Switch.

But also, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Star Fox Zero, Star Fox Guard, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame 5, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Maker all seem like they'll be stuck on that console

I guess it still has a Virtual Console library. I should probably finish Golden Sun.
