Oh, it's one of those movies.
I only understood like half of this post, but I do appreciate the effort to drop some knowledge. Have an awesome weekend! They sold out when Fox corporate started getting their grubby hands in the film process. The majority of their films are just mediocre to trash, which is annoying when you remember how poignant both the first Ice Age and Bunny were. Peanuts turning out as good as it did was a miracle.
Also they acted like jerks at SCAD and accused the CG students of not being able to rig on their own. So nah.

Is this Blue Sky's last film? With Disney absorbing Fox like an amorphous blob, I can't imagine they'll need another animation studio.

Yep. They visited one week a few years ago and several students who had consultations with them came back hot, saying they were unfairly accused of using auto-riggers. Like we don't have dedicated rigging classes.Oh shit, that happened? I knew they visited one week or something, but didn't hear anything like that from the animation department.
Yeah, it's... weird. "Competent black guy is subjected to unwanted genetic experimentation by white guy and through trials and tribulations realizes that maybe the white guy was right to take away his humanity all along".Why couldn't it have been just a spy film with a smart kid. Why did the black man have to be changed into a pigeon, a bird that is considered the rat of the sky and a bird most people actively dislike? Did nobody even once imagine what the optics of that looked like?
