I already play on PC but I pre-ordered the Xbox One version on Amazon just out of curiosity how it would look on my OLED with HDR so they sent me a code but it wasn't one to redeem on Xbox but on Bethesda.net. So I did that and nothing happened? They said they would e-mail me a code or something but I never got anything. lol

You have to check your purchase history on Bethesda's site to find the Xbox key.

I managed it my second try :P. You just gotta not rush it despite it saying you need to (I'm pretty sure the timer is on each obstacle, not on the whole course).

(Though maybe I'm thinking of a different quest come to think of it... mine was for the military base)

I was about to freak out if you did that in two attempts. LOL

MB is different, I'm actually just starting that one, thankfully it sounds much easier.

I had to ask too, it's a horrible way of handling it. I'm pretty sure I never got an email notification from Bethesda with those instructions.

Yeah, really dumb. I guess it would be fine if they actually told you but like you said Bethesda gave me no explanation.

If you don't care about spoilers, you can spend this weekend's B.E.T.A. working towards what seems to be one of the major questlines/endgame.

The quest to begin joining the Enclave can be found at the Abandoned Waste Dump. You travel into a cave with a couple Deathclaws, but their AI is terrible and they cannot reach you in multiple locations. You can either find the body with the tape you need or you can find the elevator which will point you to the body. You will then need to find a holo in one of the deathclaw nests to let you into the bunker.

A desk in the bunker will have instructions on how to get you past the laser grid, and a computer past that will have a code you need. You grab an ID card behind a painting and then can head to the Whitesprings Bunker, which is Enclave HQ. Since the Waste Dump bunker mentions other "free" bunkers on the map, it may be possible to get a keycard elsewhere.

The questline rewards powerful stuff that very few of us will actually be able to use for a while, but its still neat. The Enclave still seem black-and-white evil though. Not surprising.

Why when I launch the beta on PC that it says it's offline? Isn't it the time right now to play it?

Edit: Nevermind. I thought it was 4:00pm EDT start time.

Any word on if Bethesda expects to be able to retroactively fix the perk card pack issues on Xbox? Still unsure if I should even bother continuing to play.

Oh my god, I was really looking forwards to this game but I started up the beta when the PC beta went live and it ran like shit on my PC. I was incredibly disappointed and cancelled my preorder. Kept reading info about it though and saw that it was defaulting to integrated graphics cards for some people. It was doing that for me too. Changed the settings and it runs fine now. Luckily I should still be able to afford to buy it.

Example of how you changed this? Hope it helps my performance.

I'm dogsitting and the internet is so bad here that I don't think the damn beta will even download before the time is up.

100gb beta, really?

Why do you have to pay caps to fast travel?

Some of the stuff in this game is just dumb as hell.

That even ignoring that caps are still a currency, as if every spot in the world decided that caps would make sense as a currency.

I played about 30 minutes of the Xbox One X version on my B7A and I still think it looks very good compared to maxed out PC. In fact, the X version doesn't have that awful shadow pop-in nor does it have that really horrendous depth of field / blur effect in the background so combo that with 4K HDR and I almost prefer the X version in the looks department. The only thing disappointing was the HDR implementation which doesn't seem the greatest, like lots of areas had crushed blacks to me whereas other games with good HDR made dark areas look pitch black. There was also no in-game HDR adjustment which is disappointing and hopefully Bethesda adds it in the future though I heavily doubt it.

I'll still end up maining the PC version though simply because of higher framerate. The PC version still looks great even though I'm only playing in 1440p with no HDR. The X version was not terrible but I could tell from playing in 30 minutes how this could potentially give me a headache dealing with the dips and hitches, especially in combat.

I am a bit late to this, haven't been following 76 much at all but I am trying the beta for the first time today. I am really really digging this so far.

I also was having crazy bad performance on first launch, but it seemed to be because the game was always using borderless fullscreen which apparently runs like a dog. I had to force regular fullscreen in the .ini, and then it started running fine. Changing it in-game and then restarting did not save the setting change.

Game seems like it runs fine now, though I'm not impressed so far. People running around with open mics is particularly annoying. Also crafting stations being locked to one person at a time seems like an obviously bad idea. Someone was just AFK on the initial one so that nobody could use it.

So social is still broken. Cool. 10 days. Finally got in to actually play this time and it is a pretty game but I am not a fan of building. Never was in Fallout 4 and I don't think I will in this because the only real good implementation of base building would be with a more broader intake of PvP with real reason to build and attack. That's where my mindset is right now though after playing for a bit, is the exploration is absolutely stunning and the world itself is gorgeous but the actual world building is barebones move to x do y then go repeat at another location.

I wanted this game to have PvP so badly, but the implementation is so butchered that its pointless to even do so. If they had of enabled it in similar function to say Rust but have it so there are safe zones where players can not attack and they are your neutral gathering locations would be amazing. Bases would be actually useful for staging wars and enabling adaptable content by the player for the player.

Oh also, why is social still broken? I can't group up with my friends on PC at all and its silly.

Played for an hour and a half.

If I hadn't just replayed the entirety of fallout 4 when I got my One X in May (my 4th playthrough) I think I would be feeling this game significantly more. Aside from the trees, everything feels way too similar and in that hour and a half alone I must have listened to a dozen holotapes. I can't imagine what our inventory will look like by the time we get to 50. That'

Im really hoping this shapes into something special by next summer.

Yeah at this point, I think I would cancel my pre-order copy of this game. I'm not going to cause I want the schlocky Power Armor Helmet and I love schlocky crap.

But this game.... who boy, even as a lackluster bare bones fallout game... I just hate it. It's not fun scrounging the whole world to find two bobby pins, to have a whole game built around crafting where I never have resources to even repair the shitty weapons that I have.
