Damnit, couldn't get the killer cross tail gator deal. Had to work 8-1pm central, got off work, and the deal was gone. Curse target for making me work on cyber Monday!

I guess I still win cause I didn't spend more money on Lego
I feel you pain, I'm pissed I missed the gbhq deal because of work + being sick :/

Well, Amazon's 30% off Cyber Monday page is up. 20 or so sets available...actually a decent selection I think, but nothing terribly new so for most of us it'll be a lot of "already got that"

Except, for me...I just finally snagged the Temple of Airjitzu. I've had my eye on it since the day it came out, almost pulled the trigger on it a bunch of times and never did. 30% off, plus the fact that it's now officially retired....yeah. It is now mine.

That means I gotta get Destiny's Bounty to go with it lol

edit: looks like they're going fast, Kwik-E-Mart was on there but it's sold out already, maybe others too

LOL. No temptation for me. Only 1 item shows up for that link now:

LEGO Classic Creative Builder Box 10703 (Exclusive)

I need to be a little quicker.

When I posted about Amazon's upcoming deal I was skeptical but they really delivered. They also had an item limit set so resellers couldn't just buy them all.

Walmart price matched but had no limit so they sold out of the good stuff soon after Amazon did.

Something to keep in mind for future sales in the US at least. Walmart is pretty good about price matching Amazon sales.

While I love building with LEGO I'm currently working on my masters so between budget and space I can't justify anything outside of the occasional set and deal, so no pick ups for me today. Always love it when a family member thinks of grabbing me set(which is why I have a decent star wars collection), usually that's Christmas and Birthday though. Definitely entering the MOC contest, I can get away with spending ten bucks, and I'm craving some creative building

I usually can't stand busts of that scale made out of Lego, but... that Goofy looks great for some reason! Bring on the rest of the gang.

Ideas Review is in. Tron Legacy, as was heavily rumored, made it. This sadly means no Venetian Houses...

So disappointing, those Venetian Houses would have been an instant buy for me (Probably 2 of them actually).

My (soon to be) wife is getting me a joint wedding and Christmas present and is letting me go nuts in the Lego store!

I can't decide between Ninjago City, Assembly Square or The Disney Castle.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

Shame about the SEGA Classic Arcade Machines. Not really feeling the Light Cycle, but maybe LEGO's designers can spice it up.

Between Ninjago City and Assembly Square I'd recommend Assembly Square as both nicer to display and more fun to build; I can't speak for Disney Castle though.

Are you collecting the modular line? If so Assembly Square.

I love the Disney Castle though. And if you collected the CMF line it's a great place to display the figs. It would also make a great group or couple holiday build.

One other consideration is since Assembly Square is the newest modular it will probably be on shelves longer than the other two.

Tron? Hmm, OK I guess. Not much interest unless the set end up being really good, but who knows, maybe it'll give enough attention to the Tron license that we might get that third movie someday.

My fingers are crossed that the Saturn V scale Space Shuttle makes it in the next round. Need more great NASA sets.
Best use I have ever seen of the hot air balloon piece.

Both of these look fantastic. I love when people are able to do angles well like with that Goofy face.

And that Rebel logo ship is seriously rad. I think I might like it better than the Millenium Falcon itself.

I can only speak to the Disney Castle. It's pretty great, lots of neat mini builds. Especially if you guys are Disney fans.

Oh, god. That is a tough choice. Do I go rationally or with my heart?
Thinking about it, both say Disney Castle.
Assembly Square probably has a couple more years of life in it. Ninjago City probably won't last too long, but Disney Castle was just special in almost every single way.

Disney Castle it is.

Cheers for all the recommendations guys!

I've ruled out Assembly Square (I've only just got the Brick Bank so I'll start off gently with the modulars) which I'll probably get later on down the line.

I'm now stuck trying to decide between Ninjago and Disney - We're both huge Disney fans but the City just looks so damn cool!

Time to flip a coin.

My Black Friday purchases are starting to roll in. Really happy to finally have the Kwik E Mart but I will have to re purpose it a bit to fit into my planned city.

Also made the big step of finally getting a table to build my city on.
Ive been talking about building out a lego city for months as I picked up random sets but never had a table or anywhere to build it. Probably wont have time to really start until holiday break but thats ok, one step at a time.

Or ask your future wife, you never know she might have her two cents... especially if she's a Disney fan. Other thing to consider is with a little bit of adjustment you might be able to modify the Castle into something that would fit into the city

Yes! Now that does feel like a breath of fresh air :) If only i knew what to do with my modular city though ugh, no time to put together a solid concept so most of them are still unbuilt :(

On a sidenote: Does anyone here have the UCS Tie and if so how do you display it? I am nearly finished with it and am wondering whether to even use the stand at ALL since it does stand up on the wings by itself and the stand looks oddly bulky and in the way hmm...

Towards the top of the building by the woman with the camera are some round windows. Been looking at them for ages trying to work out how they've been put there.

I use the stand, and tilted the Tie a little, so it seems flying at an angle.

appears to be a 4X1 top arc with a pair of 1X1 spacers, a 4X1 bottom arc and a round transparent bottom piece (2X2) stuck inside. it's possible the 1x1 could be be a 1x1 with a claw, or a 1x2 with prong, but I'm not sure. That's what I've got from what I can see
edit: I could try mocking something up in LDD later

Ok toythatkills here is my very rough attempt at recreating those windows in LDD. I'm sure the final solution is more elegant, and boy did I have a hard time figuring out a way to secure the top arc, but here's a functional although not perfect way to do it using pretty standard pieces

Now with that question answered, I have a paper to work on. tell me what you guys think when you have the time

Can't make out the dates, but when is that 60 year promo available?

Edit: Also, drag racer so unrealistic. Where this guy's protective roll cage? His head would just pop off if he crashes.
