It's fun but don't think I will get it yet cause it's $48 here. Will definitely get it once it goes on sale.

Every Lumines title at retail was $40 and nobody complained back then. I think that people have very warped expectations of value nowadays.
Demo is fantastic stuff from Mizuguchi and co. Can't wait for next week.
Got home after a long and tiring day: time to zone out. Will play with my girlfriend that is also in love with the game. We will use the zone for the first time today because we completely forgot about it laat time we played.

Playing non-VR and not really a fan. I've been addicted to Puyo Puyo Tetris for months and Tetris just feels so much better in that game. There's something 'off' about this, like some input lag when you're moving the pieces. It feels a bit art over function.
That said, I can tell this would be totally awesome in VR because of the 3D etc, and that's really what this game has been designed for. So I'm not getting the proper experience really.
Edit: liking it a little more now I've realised you can disable that annoying vibration

Why does the Sony store still suck so much? I tried searching for this demo, enter "tetris effect" only shows the pre-order and other Tetris games. Then I entered "tetris effect demo" same. So I gave up and browsed normally through the store to find it.
It's almost $60 In Canada. There's 27 levels in journey, no multiplayer or competitive play, only 4-5 modes in effects(most are similar or chill out playlists). Puyo Tetris is $25 and offers more so I understand the price complaints.
I can only speak for myself, but I only bought two Lumines games. The very first one, which was an entirely new thing, so that makes it a terrible comparison to this game. And the Vita game, which I bought during a sale because I didn't think it brought enough new stuff to the table to warrant the price. So my expectation of value hasn't changed a bit.
It's so weird. I've never really connected with any version of Tetris before. I'm actually pretty bad at it when it goes to a speed of like 5 my brain can't keep up with the game... BUT.

Depends on what you want. If you are OK with single player only this is probably the one to get, but for multiplayer I would get Puyo Puyo Tetris as it offers multiplayer for up to 4 players.
On core gameplay alone, I think Puyo Puyo Tetris is superior, but I don't know what the full game offers over this demo.

Looks amazing. This might top your Garden of Eden theme for Rez for me, or at least a worthy contender to alternate. Great work!
I'm still on the fence on buying this day one, but only because of the price (anything below € 30 and I would have zero doubts). I love everything else. I'm yours forever is such a good song too.
My advice is, don't think of it as a Tetris game. think of it as an existential experience that uses Tetris as the trigger.
Or like, a time machine built into a Delorean. The Delorean is the base, but the final product is much, much greater than the sum of those parts.
It plays a portion of it but takes a few minutes for both the audio and visuals to kick in. Kind of dumb unless you slowly navigate your menus.
It's smoke from the menu, but who knows, the music is just that good ... :)
It plays the entire song (the trailer edit, which is currently the longest mix), with the addition of a seamless loop point. Additionally, when you navigate back to the menu at any point theme does not "restart" until you log off or reset your console.
I don't have a problem with the price by itself, but I don't think I could justify a double dip of this at 40 dollars, which makes me hesitate on buying it now.
I played the demo, and immediately canceled my Best Buy preorder
so that I could preorder on PSN instead and play it earlier! Soooo good!

I'm about as excited for the theme as I am for the game. I was running Truant Pixel's Rez Infinite theme for a long time til last month's Special Blue Twirl, which was fun to watch over the days.
Ha! This is exactly what I did on my oled. My eyes are bleeding after 3 games. So good!

That's one beautiful theme. Pls tell me it will be available separately later like the Rez infinite themes. Cause I'm broke and can't get the game right now.

It's abdolutely incredible. But man the audio/visual excess is distracting. I just want to groove to the tunes and watch the particle whales and manta rays and worshipping yogis and then oops, I've fucked up my Tetris.

Yeah I feel my pupils shrinking when I go into Zone and I get at least 8 lines to make the whole screen go white, it's amazing. And that's with my TV's backlight at 50% (which it always should be for HDR on that model). I can't even imagine if I cranked it up higher.
And also it's kind of necessary - with the in-game brightness any lower than 10, the playing field felt like it would occasionally get too dark during certain spots when HDR was on.
I pre-ordered the moment I finished the demo. A remarkable experience. I loved it in VR, but 4K mode is GORGEOUS.
My TV does up to 2000 nits (it usually doesn't get close to that in HDR, but Tetris Effect in HDR with Brightness at 10 is its own beast). I think I'd actually give myself eye damage if I did that.
Tried the demo & found it surprisingly good :) Had no interest earlier, but when the music kicked in....sold!!!
