Haha, why would I actually read the OP? Thanks, looks like I will now be browsing around online to check the boxart for the Japanese version of Revelations 1. I imagine since it is a standalone release it wouldn't need that giant banner (yes I have a problem).
I got the same "problem". ;)
If they really mess something like that up, I have no problem in picking up a Japanese copy instead.
In this case, it's just that the US copies always come with a code for Revelations 2 and I don't want a third account on my system at this time.
So a Japanese copy, either the stand alone one, or the double pack would be fine.
Then again, I hadn't looked into the banner thing. So the stand alone one will probably be my pick and I'll download the Rev2 on the EU eshop.
Although, now that I checked out the box art, it doesn't seem to have a banner... Hopefully that's the final one.
By Global SKU, is this like RE5/RE6 on Xbox 360 or RE7 on XB1, in which the disc is literally the same globally, which means compatible save files and DLC no matter where you buy?
I can't really confirm since I don't have the game yet. But looking at how other universal Switch games seem to be doing this, I think so.
Once you buy one of these universal games on the European eshop for instance, if I then go to the Japanese eshop with my second account, it shows up as purchased as well. So those definitely are the same.
Certain games don't do universal languages, so watch out for those ones.
The only thing that I'm wondering in this case is, if the game is coded to show the Biohazard title screen when logged in to a Japanese account, yet a Resident Evil one when logged into a western account.
But someone will probably be able to check on that very soon.
