Hopefully they improve the models. They are showing their age now.

Can't believe they're showing a trailer already. This has to be the fastest they've shown stuff right?

Super interesting that they're working with the cover athlete as he is a free agent. Sounds like PlayStation is going to be pretty involved whenever he makes an announcement to sign to a team. I don't watch much baseball. Who's the NBA equivalent to Bryce Harper?

I am just praying for some good franchise stuff and better jerseys, grass, animations, models. Those are my big 5. Any improvements at all are welcome.

The Show has been getting better, but it's always had this really dead look compared to real life that I have just gotten sick of. They really need to work on accurate presentation and not based on TV models. Based on the actual stadiums atmosphere. The series has only taken baby steps with graphics each year. Getting off that PS3 engine base took so long.

Define giant text because it's written in one of the paragraphs. They could've easily put a cover not final text over the box art. Or maybe they shouldn't have even announced the cover till he signed with someone.

MyCareer no longer is about points, you play smart your character improves in the stats.............its really, really cool and the best character progression in a game in a long time.

They just need to improve the actual off field stuff because the current stuff could be removed and you wouldn't miss anything really

Outside of a Subway ad like 4 years ago Trout does next to no marketing. Not sure if its because he likes to keep a low profile, or he's just not marketable (despite being the best player in the league, nobody knows who he is, Harper while not as good definitely has a higher profile) or a little of both.

Hope they actually do some serious work on the game this year. The game has been virtually unchanged since 14. Abysmal frame rates are a common theme. High FPS mode introduced in 17 is not very good at all. Smoother but all the jump cuts and "cutscenes" are choppy and break the flow. I've been so unimpressed with the game for a long time and it's a tragedy that there's only one baseball game in town. It was good once, now it's just a rehash year after year with all the focus on profit making stubs and other garbage. This is coming from a person that bought a ps4 specifically and solely for this game.

Hoping pitching is different but not holding my breath since it's been the same for like 15 years now.

The game has some jarring presentation issues they need to address too. Sound quality is low and not as crisp as it used to be (the game's sound was overall better during the PS3 years iirc).

The cover isn't final because they have no idea what team Harper will be on come March.

That could be it. He's the cover star for Tap Baseball so not sure why he would be opposed to being the cover star of MLB The Show. SCEA obviously has the license to use his likeness in their game, even motion capture his movements and batting stance. You'd think if Trout didn't want any part of that attention then he wouldn't allow SCEA or other companies to use him in their game.

Bryce Harper is more well known, and the Free Agency angle allows them to play into that as part of their marketing. These kinds of deals are not rewards for being the best player.

There is an Alpha for MLB 19 starting today. Looks like they are sending invitations to your PS4.
I just turned my PS4 on and saw I was invited. I wasn't even aware they were doing an alpha let alone sign up for one.

I didn't sign up for anything and got the invite today. I did however buy the special edition of MLB 18, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it?

Yea, I'm not sure if they pick random owners of the previous years game or let everyone who played a copy in, but they did the same with last year's alpha.
