The old droprates should still be correct/similar, the only thing they changed I believe are streamstones drops, warrior/hero can drop in lower tempered investigations now too(I wanna say warrior in T1, hero+warrior in T2 and T3, while before it was nothing in T1, warrior in T2 and warrior/hero in T3 I think?). So they probably lowered the percentages a bit for feystones to add streamstones to the table, but nothing that would have a large impact.

It was getting a Hero stone from a tier 2 that made me aware the old droprates were wrong. I really just want to know the best Tier for Warped Feystones, I'm assuming that's still tier 2.

Tier 2 are the best for the highest tier decos because Tier 3 reserves so much for augmentation stones.

I generally just run whatever T2 or T3 investigations that have 4+ boxes when I'm spamming the SOS search function. I've had T2 hunts give 3x hero stones and T3s give 3x warped decos. The time I save by being less picky makes up for the slightly lower T3 drop rates for decos, I think.

I guess you only need one Kulve scale to get the cutscene that unlocks the siege option in the gathering hub? That's what it did for me, at least.

In case no one knows where to find one, just go to Central Camp in Rotten Vale and go into the first lower area where you normally fight Vaal. There's a Kulve scale there.

This Kulve stuff sounds a bit weird. I play solo almost exclusively so I'm not keen on having to find a party of 4 anyway, but what's this about the whole online session contributing? Will I be dependent on a whole 16 person session having their shit together?

From my understanding it's more like 4 sessions running simultaneously (but damage is shared across the instances) and sharing in rewards.

Not really need to search that hard. You will filter for the event itself so it can show only KT rooms. Find one relatively full and that is it. Join up.

There isn't really SOS for it because its a progress meter type of event.

You don't really need to have your shit together from what I've seen. I mean you do if you want to farm it super quickly and efficiently, but for general runs, it's easy enough that you just need people kinda doing stuff. Even if people wipe, they can requeue and keep going until there's enough overall progress. Also from what I understand, a single efficient group is enough to carry everyone easily.

Main tip if you want to be more efficient than the average pub, bring Partbreaker 3 in your build. Literally doesn't matter what you drop, because partbreaker is better than everything on this fight, it's a raw 10% "damage" per point, which is basically over double what anything else gives. Good ways to get PB3 is for example Uragaan chest+Partbreaker decoration in it for an easy +3, or a deco+partbreaker charm(need a teostra gem to make this) or if no deco you can try to fit both Uragaan chest+belt or belt+charm.

General fight tips are, break gold stuff, all of it, don't bother hitting the body it's just about breaking, if she sleeps, bomb her horns, use lightning if you have a decently fast weapon since she's extra weak to lightning in P1-3(for greatsword/hammer/horn etc, just use a normal raw build), ice for phase 4, bring a farcaster to switch gear between P3 and P4, or just to get more consumables, there's canons and stalagtites to shoot too, fire resist is good to have(if possible try to bring 20 natural fire resist so you're immune to burning).

I still can't believe most people don't know what a farcaster is.p (at least in my experience playing this game in particular).

Edit: oh god not relic weapons

Guess I should learn how to ranged weapons.

Sure why not. Any build with partbreaker is going to be decent, bombardier also is useful if you sleep her since you can get a lot of horn damage with bombs(especially if you double bomb her). Weakness exploit is of limited use on the fight as far as I understand, because only her head is a weakpoint for melee weapons(and her head is out of reach most of the fight other than knockdowns and such), and only frontclaws for ranged I think.

For a LBG build that's what I'm going with:
https://honeyhunterworld.com/mhwb/?...96,0,0,57,10,0,10,10,0,2,Recoil,Recoil,Recoil
Although I don't think I'll bother augmenting it because it's not that much of a difference. I like this one better than the one linked above because it has a base 20fire resist so immunity to burning and high damage reduction on the only attack that does serious damage, and some health decos to learn the fight. Can replace health by critical eye too eventually.

This just keeps going, huh? I just beat Nergigante for the first time. That opened up quite a few more things. Are all the bosses after this going to be that hard? Where you basically can't make any mistake and have to be quick and lucky enough to dodge 1-hit-kill attacks?

They're close to Nergi level, but if you're getting 1 hit by anything other than their "super" attack(like the dive bomb for Nergi) then you need a better armor, they're not supposed to be that hard.

Nergigante was imo the hardest of the elder dragons the first time, but once you're used to him he's one of the easier ones, low health and his attacks are pretty easy to avoid and the only dangerous ones are the black spikes divebomb(easy to tell when it'll happen and when it does, on most weapons you can just sheath and superman dive to avoid all damage) and the one where he drops you onto the ground then does a smash which is avoided by simply not touching anything so you get up later(you're invincible when laying on the ground).

I know this and yet I can't count the number of times I've gotten up early out of sheer stupidity and ended up getting carted.

So the hunt for sure doesn't begin till Friday? Sometimes I feel like the events begin later in the evening of the prior day, aka tonight sometime. I've got a few more sets to throw together but then it's go time! Can't wait to get a ton of weapons I don't want and nothing that I do!

Edit: checked the schedule and yeah it should be 5PM PST I believe of 11/1.

Yeah it's in a few hours, for the US it's basically Nov1st instead of Nov2nd as a result, the Nov2nd time is Japan based at least assuming the event page is correct.

Are people going to hate me for running Lance (part breaker 3) instead of HBG for Kulve?
LBG is better than HBG anyway. Most people will just run whatever, doesn't matter that much. If people want to be super efficient they can setup parties on Discord or whatever and just farm like that. You can farm with just one party if you do it efficiently, people who queue full group it's kinda expected it won't be the most efficient fights, especially early on when a lot of people don't even know what to do.

Honestly if people care about what a random person is running in a match, they care way too much about being perfect and shouldn't be doing pubs.
Yeah that's never really been what public rooms in Monster Hunter have been about IMO. I might have talked to someone and given some friendly advice in the older games if I noticed they were wearing mismatched armor with no skills activated, but I wouldn't have kicked them and certainly wouldn't have given anyone shit over it or their weapon choice or whatever. Maybe if someone stumbled into a hame room or something, but that's a totally different animal and in my experience those runs were usually private anyway.

Haven't had a chance to play yet but my brother got Glutton on his first run, which is typical as its the one weapon I'd really like ;)

Finished my first run of KT. Was pretty fun and I definitely want the armor. Palico samurai is awesome.

Glad to hear things are going smoothly so far with Kulve raid! Thanks for the feedback.

We have more 'stuff' in the pipeline to keep you busy after Kulve Taroth. :)

Managed one kill with 3 people in our hub. Was a very cool fight, 13 weapons as a reward was super neat!

Finished several runs. She rolls way too much... The fight is easier with only 2 people. Less rolling and running.

Crafted the body and waist armor, need a second jewel to craft all the beta gear. Got several lvl 8 weapons, but no GS or LS sadly.

I completed a couple of sieges and found it quite entertaining, repeated runs will probably get a little dull though. My second run ended when I broke off the horns with a SAED to her noggin, felt pretty bad ass.

I got a R8 Thunder Charge Blade which, with Free Element 3 and Thunder attack 5, does 550 Thunder damage! It has just under 700 raw with a decent bit of blue, and impact phial. This is a really good weapon right?

So, I got hooked to the Kulve Taroth siege, last night. Only had a few successful runs, but still got a ton of weapons. This is probably a question for those that played on consoles before, but are there any weapons I should look to hold onto? I've been keeping any Rarity 7 or 8, regardless, but I'm concentrating on Bow and Insect Glaive. I was going to trash the Rarity 6 weapons, but saw a lot of them had 3 Augmentation slots, so I wasn't sure if there was some hidden gem among them.
