Not at all. I hate "gamer" gear. It's generally gaudy as all heck. I wanted a new gaming keyboard but they all light up in rainbow flashes and cascades and stuff now. I just want a keyboard dagnabbit, not a edm festival stage display.

I do dig more sleek designs that the first party console guys have been releasing though, like Sony's gold headsets ect. I got a Titianfall keyboard now, simply because it was $20 lol. Been dying to get a more basic one, mouse options are even worse at this point.

Nope -- it's awful.

One of my work laptops is an Asus Zephyrus, and I have black electrical tape over anything that says "Republic of Gamers" in garish font.

Apparently wanting desktop performance in a mobile platform means you have to swing your dick around.

I used to really really hate it. I've loosened up a bit and kind of revel in it now. I wouldn't call it liking it "ironically" and I certainly don't think it's cool at all, but there's something sort of fascinating and goofy about gamer stuff that I kind of love

Gamer design is varying degrees of awful. I actually don't mind LEDs in and of themselves - I use a SteelSeries Rival 600 set to lighter pastel colors - but the hard angles, red=fast, and unnecessary plastic appendages bug me.

as an aside, the RAT7 was an awful fucking mouse. I got it when I did my first build for the ergonomic options and it broke after a year. The left click button just turned to mush.

I seriously wonder who this is for.

Adults hate it. Kids think it's stupid.

I think the manufacturers are just out of touch and have the same shitty product designers they hired in the late 90s.

Probably keep it going just because in the end it sells since the majority of gamer products look like that.

Like I said, I don't really like calling it liking it "ironically" becuase that sort of feels like a dodge, why not just be comfortable in your own skin and admit that you like something sincerely, etc. BUT, I don't think I enjoy the aesthetic in like, the way it was intended I guess? Like, my Corsair K95 Platinum keyboard is big and gamery and obnoxious, but I mostly like it because to me, the rainbow LEDs are gay as fuck. It makes me smile.

But if it's selling that probably means someone likes it.

It's not like simple rectangles and practical looking designs stopped being made.

I like the open design of it personally but have solid colored keys when the PC is unlocked.

It can be garish, but I like gamer gear. LED things with just a bit of color looks nice.

I've honestly never met any gamers who love stuff the clearly looks like 'gamer' shit. Like. I don't understand why they don't make the branding a little edgy and the products not look like RGB Trash, I feel like that might widen the appeal while still keying in on their market.

I think Razr does a great job of this as of late, they generally have classy design but some cool flare worked in.

I was searching forever to find a case that functioned well and didn't look horrible for my PC build, and was impressed with BeQuiet's designs as well!

I mean there is probably people who just buy whatever has the specs and don't care about design, and becase they buy it they think its okay to keep designing them like that, since not enough people vote no with their wallet.

Mine, but I replaced all the LEDs in the fans with white lights, got rid of the keyboard with a MatiasApple keyboard with wireless and backlight keys. Still use the mouse but I'm going to ditch it soon, likely for something basic. I don't even know what all the buttons on it do.
Nice, yeah InWin makes good stuff, too. I seriously considered the 301 to use with that mATX board. It's a really good looking case. There were three things that turned me off from it ultimately though:

-Name/Logo on the front
-No included fans
-Reviews mentioned a weird cable management system with breakaway tabs instead of rubber grommets on the motherboard tray

If they fixed those things, it would have been my first choice. I'm mostly happy with my Define Mini C...I did buy it just a few weeks before the TG version was announced though, which I do regret a bit.

I've got a K70 with the rainbow wave animation enabled. It's hypnotic, and it never stops looking magical and beautiful to me.

If that shit is wrong, I don't want to be right.

No. I prefer clean, simple, minimalist. Shit that has "gamer design" all over it is ugly af.

I'm liking it a little more lately. sometimes it kind of hits the right Y2K techno-goth retro notes.

I've never liked that style. I do have a bunch of stuff that looks like that, but it's always despite the way it looks. It's like Michael Bay designs all of the gaming pc parts.

Oh lord no.

...I typed on my Alienware PC.

But the case isn't nearly so tacky as most and you can turn the lighting accents off entirely, plus I got it at a super crazy clearance price.

I will never understand the thought process that says, "Hey we're gonna' make this two-toned, with a matte and glossy finish."

"Okay, which part should the part that everyone will regularly be touching be, thus covering with fingerprints?"

"Glossy, obviously."

No, when I built my gaming PC I specifically looked for the most plain black box I could get for my case.
