Chorus Kids was cut from Smash 4, probably due to 3DS limitations, so i always thought those kids were a lock in Smash 5. Banjo was always questionable i will admit, but Phil Spencer did say he was open to it, but clearly Nintendo sadly wasn't.

The main things were it actually did take quite a bit of effort to do obviously and there was small little details like Isaac using growth and Chorus Kids pulling on the conductors tie. Also Mach Rider was such an out of the blue choice. Like who the hell would care about Mach Rider outside of Sakurai? That game sucks and isn't even notable like Duck Hunt.
I knew it was fake pretty quickly once I started to peel back the layers but I'm not surprised so many were convinced. You and many others never deserved to have your credibility called into quesiton though. That pissed me off

Century Smash has a mode called All-Star Smash....so instead of changing stages, you fight everyone ala multi man melee.
plus there is a whole single player campaign. so the whole "only online" shit is wrong.

In all honesty, should we be surprised? People became so dedicated to the Grinch Leak that they were attacking insiders to the point of actual abuse and ignoring every single piece of evidence and argument against the image being real. The only thing that makes sense with these people is that they're doing backflips to justify how hard they fell for it by claiming it was all some grand trickery by Nintendo themselves.
