The quiet "sequel" to The Bouncer. I'm actually intrigued by it, but will likely wait on a sale.

The gameplay has looked quite bad in videos, and who knows how the concept and FMV will end up, but I might pick it up. It's just so peculiar. Good on SquareEnix for giving projects like this a chance.

And not available on psn in Australia. That's two releases this week that I was looking forward to (the other being redeemer) that for some reason skipped us.

Gonna check this out. It's an interesting concept that I don't think got nearly as much as it deserved to make it a better product.

A silent release of a game starring a man with hearing deficiency? Seems a bit tone-deaf to me.

I don't like how much different it is than the movie

up on US PSN with a 10% discount

I just bought it, it's probably gonna be horrible judging by the PAX impressions. But I think at the very least, the game will be interesting and maybe even so-bad-it's-good entertainment when played with a group.

I also kinda enjoyed The Bouncer ...

Awww, all good jokes already done. D:

Not something for me to play but I'll absolutely wacht that on YT. As a huge fan of Nicolas form Gangsta. I found it very intriguing right on the spot. And this second playthrough thing sonds interesting too. I like this whole concept. Sadly the story seems to be rather generic but well, at least the dude looks kinda cute. How bad can it be?

It actually doesn't look peculiar AT ALL.

If....you were a PS2 gamer. This game looks so unique in a sea of safe AAA titles, and pretty okay indie titles. You know, the indies that were supposed to replace the AA games hole we lost since gen 7-ish?

Yup. This type of creative style was business as usual back in the PS2 days...heh. Look at everyone scratching their heads on this title, we need more games like this imho.

the folks on giantbombcast have had nothing but contempt and astonishment (in a bad way) for this game

my interest in this game only comes from the tranwreck aspect of it

Abou time!
I was trying to find it since yesterday.
First time in a while that I can't buy a game at midnight on release day from the PS Store.

Bought it already but it will have to wait till I'm done with RDR2.

Well, it's got a good price (only 18 bucks in the Canadian Store). Why not, I'll buy it. If it's short, then it'll make a nice breather after RDR2.

Who is taking one for the team and getting it?

I'd like to read some Era impressions, preferably from those who tend to like these types of games.

Weird way to release the game. Figured it would be more than a budget title. Will have to check it out when I'm out of work.

My thoughts from the PAX West demo:

Sam from Ars said:
If there's some "a-ha!" revelation that eventually delivers a payoff, I'm not sure how much more of the "game" I could endure to get to it. The interactive sequences are currently awful and buggy, while the non-interactive ones are slow, plodding, and severely lack the kind of visual framing or meaning-loaded symbolism that I might expect from a game about a deaf person (heightened senses and all that). If you're wondering why Square Enix has done nothing to promote The Quiet Man (I'd certainly never heard of it until last week), let me float a theory: because it just plain sucks.

More here: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018...te-blast-thanks-to-16-surprising-new-games/2/

Definitely seemed better suited to watching a Let's Play than actually diving into it yourself, quite honestly.

It looks bad based off what I watched on Twitch. I never had high hopes for this title anyways. just looks odd. Maybe it will be better than what I think, but hard pass for me as of this moment. Ill check in here later for updated opinions.
