You save 6 bucks over buying them individually. But you are trusting the devs to come up with 5 characters you actually want.

I meant basically that the august direct showed us every stage is underwhelming
1) He doesn't have a stage
2) Pretend he is. That means there's four fighter packs you need to buy to get the season's pass worth. 4 x $6 = $24. The season pass is $25. Anyone who got Piranha for free would lose money buying the season pass.
Genuine question - what's wrong with online? We're finally getting location (or possibly even ping) based matchmaking, and we can play training / offline modes while matching.
So I caught Skull Kid without Majoras Mask as a Spirit. So I guess there's still a chance he appears as a DLC character?
Why would they bother to make an AT for a character if they knew they were gonna have to remove it a few months later? Just seems like a waste of dev time. AT models also aren't as high quality as character models so it's not like they're doing some early work in advance in prep for the actual character or something.
Spirits though, yeah considering that a deconfirm is dumb. They're basically stickers, they're meaningless.
He seemed pretty disappointed when I popped into the stream for a sec, but he was taking it in stride. Oddly enough, he did end up having an accurate insider with the Spirits info.
Tons of people were on team fake. Personally I thought it was fake because it was full of forum favorite deep cuts.
Yeah, on the other hand we know that Nintendo wants the Switch to be with us more time than the WiiU, and if the "first season" sells well, I can see them offering more content.
Then play Smash 4 if you're just going to be reductive about this game's roster and gameplay changes. If characters you like are your priority for getting a new Smash, I'm sure you'll be fine sticking to that version. Unless of course... there are other reasons to buy a Smash game.

That's fair enough. I think both are likely but my fear is that both are spirits in the final game and Sakurai didnt reveal every spirit yet. We'll have to see.
I feel like to get AT's as a character, there would have to be another ballot. And the demand would have to be so high, and no future smash development in sight and then yeah. Like if there's a smash bros in the next... I dunno like 5 or 6 years, nah. But if the switch lasts like mad long I can see him going " Alcuard is a thing now "

Mods locked it and linked to this thread. I have no idea why, it was a very bad move, as seen by how people are coming here to discuss the Treehouse stream when, for better or worse, this IS the Smash DT for now, not actually Treehouse discussion.
Time for us DQ hopefuls to start looking to the DLC. Ken is great, I like Inciniroar a lot more than I was expecting to. Pirahana Plant was a bit of "Seriously...?" moment for me and I can't be excited about both a new Pokemon and a new Mario character being the game, but ah well. Still a bit disappointed with the newcomers this time outside of Richter, but we have DLC to look forward to still.
Spirits is very ??? to me. New Adventure Mode seems a bit generic but I guess it's a fighting game story mode so its par for the course. This direct didn't really increase or decrease my hype. Stayed where it's at, which was relatively low. At least I got my freakout reveal with Richter. Gonna be playing lots of him.

The only thing I really don't like is No Trophies. Roster is fine, DLC is expensive but I'm ok with it. Tons of content. World of Light looks interesting.
But No Trophies is a bummer. I would have been fine with just reusing the trophies from Smash 4 and other previous entries.

Everyone remember that the Ultimate selection screen has SIX open spots, not five.
We all assumed the sixth slot would be a little DLC arrow, but if the remaining stages are all DLC, there's no real need for that. A stage for Piranha Plant makes sense.
