Lots of differences in tanks now tho. Small, medium, heavy even with different turret speeds now also. No more crazy turret swivels anymore.

Battlefield V - Official Launch Maps Trailer

Battlefield trailers always look amazing, the game is certainly a looker. But damn if that beta didn't put me and everyone else I know completely off the game. In fact it un-sold literally everyone I know on it, I'm the only one from my group still picking it up in hope that DICE have turned it around.
Yeah, I loved the beta. I mean, it needed some tweaks, but the gameplay was some of the best in the series and DICE has already shown to be fixing or updating the things that were "broken".

Uh Revolution is the game with Premium. This game doesnt have that anymore.
Oh well then I guess I'll pick up an equivalent of that which they will inevitably sell that comes with "battle bucks" or whatever you need to use to buy cosmetics
- Hamada has the most potential. Arras could be good. Ditto Panzerstorm.
And Twisted Steel, after seeing the overview which confirms that while indeed big, the biggest corridor ever created for a Battlefield game, is not something you have to partake in. There's basically a whole other Battlefield map around it.
These all seem like more expansive maps, with room for more types of gameplay, or at least including the kinds I prefer.
- Don't know about Narvik, never got to it in the beta. Doesn't seem blatantly good or bad. Maybe one of those kind of middling maps that's ok every now and then.
- They make Fjell seem like it'll be air-heavy, not too appealing as someone who's mostly groundborne.
Reminds me of Alborz, where about half the map was snowy mountains, but gives the impression of being just that half of that map, as in more cramped and stressful. Not convinced I'll care for it.
- Aerodrome, Rotterdam and especially Devestation are the most likely to get filtered out.
They don't show a lot of Aerodrome, basically just that shed. If there's more to it, this presentation is doing it a disservice.
Didn't play enough Rotterdam to judge, but I dunno.
Devastation is presented as this year's tight infantry focused map.
I am not worried about the number of maps. I am worried about their quality. BF1 was really bad. Just open terrain with some trenches for most of the maps. I am hoping there is more thought behind these ones.
Twisted Steel is also in the large section. Where Hamada is in the very large section.

Is it me or was there not a single female soldier in the trailer?
First they made such a big deal about how politically correct and forward thinking they are and now they are hiding their female soldiers because they know people don't want to see them

Actual good players are quite excited by it.

The trailer looked really good. A realistic WW2 Battlefield.
Hamada though on the screenshot only have 2/2. Which would be odd for such a giant map.
Should be 5v5 I think?
EDIT: It might be that the other flags unlock additional vehicle spawns. My memory is a bit fishy on this.

Think thats because maybe the match is happening in that screen compared to Twisted Steel? Looking at the taken flags.
For sure. Will be interesting to see how effective a position it is if partially destroyed and then refortified. Or if you can just bring the whole tower down.

The action of the trailer makes it difficult to tell most of the time. They made a big deal about finally offering customization, and weepy boys called that being politically correct. It'll be great to see a variety of character models in the game.

Devastation seems to be a very interesting map, it's probably my favourite right now. And the cathedral looks beautiful. The ruined city could almost be Stalingrad.
And the fact it's infantry-focused with tanks in narrow and unrecognizable streets could offer some Saving Private Ryan moments when the American soldiers ambush the German tank.

This map trailer is the best look at the game. Hype level at max for me, Im even contemplating buying a 65" OLED for maximum impact! For digital deluxe when is it available?

So cool Maps. I wonder why there are no airplanes at the Airfield map. Such a missed opportunity.
