I'm not mad about the box leak winning out over the Grinch leak. We've got more than enough characters in the game already. And while I'm still bummed about Incineroar over Decidueye I'm actually starting to warm up to that thing. Also, that fake leaker deserves all the credit in the world.
I'm very meh on the new Spirits mode, but part of that is because they introduced it in such a terrible way. Like, you really shoulda led it with being a pseudo-Adventure/Events mode guys, lol. That JPEG world map looks awful but otherwise it might be cool.
I'm kinda sad about Spring Man. He deserved better; you guys shoulda bought ARMS! Still not the end of the world though.
But. That. Fucking. PIRANHA PLANT.
I've lived through Pichu, Toon Link, Dark Pit, R.O.B. the Robot, Wii Fit Trainer, and the freaking Duck Hunt Dog. I thought I could handle any new Smash character, no matter how dumb, but I was wrong. If it was Petey Piranha maybe I wouldn't mind. But Miyamoto's obsession with the most generic and personality-less "characters" in the Mario franchise has to infect Smash now too?! Dammit. Dammit all to hell.

This much more manageable than Smash 4
This is either on par or cheaper than the passes for other fighters depending on the game.
My hopes for Skull Kid have been increased!

(Also "no Assist Trophies will be characters" was probably killed by Spring Man unless people want to admit Twintelle was the better choice any way) ;)

They said it was separate and the character is free if you buy the game between a certain timeframe.
Pretty much. This is better than Smash 4 though, which I didn't bother to buy characters for.
Spring man assist and Rex costume hurt, but seeing as they are bundling character, stage and music, which makes franchises not yet represented more likely and I've yet to see any Wonderful 101 content I'm now more than ever expecting Wonder Red in the season pass. It just adds up too well.

This seems like a way better deal than the Smash 3DS and Wii U dlc. That shit was overpriced as hell

Seriously though, this is fine. I'm glad Nintendo has joined the rest of the world in some form. Just wish it was hardware first; but I'm ok with what I got and if you get near me while I'm playing BoTW I'll cut you. This is the price of Street Fighter DLC and I'm ok with that. 5-6 bucks seems fine for a character. I paid more for horse armor in my time, and i'm still paying for call of duty.

Oh for sure it was fake, and I was not talking about the leak. However, Phil Spencer said he is ok with Banjo being in Smash, and fans want it, so I think its still a good chance we get it.
Yeah was there any music listed when they showed the XC2 tracks? If they're holding all XCX content back then I feel Elma could be a DLC pick.
Perhaps per pack instead of per character fits better. Are they called packs?

No, that wouldn't make sense if you buy the season pass that pirahana plant wouldn't be free.

Piranha Plant isn't free. It's only free until January 30th. After that it's paid DLC.
