What setting do you have steering? Simulated or normal? Also, what inputs and which direction should I be steering? I'm having a hard time staying in control and usually end up spinning out or losing speed.

I use normal steering. As far as drifting, break or pull the e-brake (or both) and steer far left or far right, then counter steer in the opposite direction as needed to keep from spinning out. Fiddle the analog stick to find the right groove, it varies from car to car. All the while hitting the accelerator as needed to continue moving without moving too fast. If you are in manual you are able to control you speed better by redlining or allowing for more speed as needed. You may have to pull the e-break more than once if you speed/timing were off, and it is also needed if you want to go in a different direction.

Edit: It is similar to a fighting game where it is trial and error and a lot of practice. If you notice in the video I posted, there are no flags left and a lot of bricks are missing because of multiple spin outs and failures in different spots.

Kind of tough to get a daredevil skill if there are literally no npc cars on the map. What on earth?

I'll bet the biggest reason why so few people have the Forzathon Live achievement is because the game takes nearly every opportunity to silently boot you from Horizon Life sessions, and then takes forever to find new ones if you do happen to notice. When is Playground going to fix this? It's incredibly annoying and frustrating to be ready to join a Forzathon Live a few minutes before the hour and not be able to get in because the game spent all that time failing to connect.

Random aside: I wondered if maybe I just forgot how to drive my cherished RS200 in actual races, but a few people on Reddit are wondering if the latest update somehow introduced additional understeer. Anyone notice anything?

Awesome thanks. Yeah, I did 3 drift zones just now, and it took me 10-20 tries to get the 3 stars on each. It's tough to get a feel of the controls, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it sooner or later.

I took my RS200 on an online adventure and was shocked at how trash I was. It felt like the controls are unresponsive... It felt like DOUBLE the response time. I assumed it was a bad connection, but I had to leave for work so I didn't get to try it in solo mode. I hope it was just a connection issue and not an update to the handling! That's my favorite car in the game.

Like a livery specifically repping the forum, or an anything-goes contest that happens to be for Resetera people?

Either way I'd be down if I can think of a good idea!

There is one currently on the Motorosport forums for Forza Horizon 4. Both Livery and photography contest where you can win in-game credits/items/car prizes.

However if you do make a Resetera one, I'd love to check it out

Can someone PLEASE tell me which upgrades most directly affect steering responsiveness? The 'handling' stat appears to have no relevance to steering whatsoever. I changed a couple of things on my XJ220 and now it steers like a boat, I don't know what caused it.

I just realized this has been happening to me since FH3 but every so often I'll open the game and it'll ask me if I want to use preset or custom graphics settings (PC version). If I hit preset it doesn't use my native resolution and only has AA at 2x so I always have to hit custom and max everything then wait for it to optimize. Kind of annoying.

Weird that they're already bringing back cars from previous Forzathon shop rotations, but I did miss out on that 911 so I'll allow it this once.

It doesn't bode that well for future Forzathon Live participation if they're already diluting rewards, though.

This seems to happen every time the PC version updates, though I thought a previous patch at least managed to kill the prompt asking if you want to use a preset. I think the optimization has to happen no matter what.

Man imagine this game set in Japan.

Imagine the Wangan highway at night, mad races there then roads leading to mountains. Imagine races like these:

Drifting in the hills like in initial D, mad Tokyo races in car parks and the highways like Tokyo Drift, then leading from Tokyo to more rural areas for all the off-road hijinks.

I still think a story mode can be done well in this. The current format of just seeing a movie director or blogging enthusiast's ass as they chat to you isn't that effective.

Have carparks as the point where convoys mingle, perhaps get their drift sessions on there then go on a highway cruise/race etc.

Is there any way at all to play offline, or are updates mandatory and is this essentially an always-online game?

You can definitely play offline in the game, but if you're asking whether you can ignore game updates and still play? I think the answer there is yes as well but I haven't tried it myself. The prompt that came up for me yesterday to update in the game seemed to allow me to continue without updating, so it might be possible in theory.

Agreed completely man! Although what I really want is a new Tokyo Xtreme Racer but I would LOVE to see a Horizon game set in Japan.

I do enjoy getting my old Hot Version/Best Motoring DVDs out and then trying to recreate the awesome cars they used to have for their Touge Battles. Amazon actually has a lot of them on Prime also.

It's hard to get these Daredevil bonuses for the Forzathon when there are no cars on the road in the open world. It feels like a dead game with nothing going on in it.

How has the checkpoint glitch not been fixed yet?? I've had two races in a row where my car flipped upside down (while in first place if we wish to apply salt here), and I had to just sit there and take the loss.

I really want to love this game, but similarly to Rainbow Six Siege, god damn these bugs are just turning me off the game entirely.

The team are currently looking into this issue relating to the ghosting and inability to reset

I didn't realize you guys were following this forum! :O

Thanks for looking into it. Means a lot to hear from you too.

I joined the team at the beginning of September and I've been lurking in the social media shadows for a while. However, about time I start respond and helping in any way I can.

Just letting you all know, we are aware that the car is showing Twin Mill and not Boneshaker. We're looking into this at the moment.

So, looks like it's the wrong Hot Wheels car in the shop because without the Boneshaker available, we can't compete in one of the seasonal event.
EDIT: welp didn't refresh

Wait, the Twin Mill is the Forzathon shop car? Didn't everyone and their dog win that last week in the retro supercars tournament?

EDIT: murdered by lack of refresh, never mind! Boneshaker it is!
