WTF they vaulted dual pistols??? My favorite weapon in the game. Those with Assault Trooper were my Lara Croft.

RIP

Worst update ever.

Literally like one person on the internet asked for this, and they got shit on when they did! I know because I googled it.

Me today like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lBO23Dh23I (nsfw language)

I'll throw my hat in as well for hatred of re-deploy, it is fun to use to get around but it has so many negatives that it's not worth keeping. You don't have to plan where you land because you can loot forever and just fly about, you can disengage from any fight, fall damage doesn't exist, no reward now for good building, you may as well just build single ramp since its a waste of materials to build more and the circle closing in is trivial too, one of the key mechanics that makes BR games exciting you no longer really have to worry about.

Still no Ghoul Trooper which is weird, I thought it would come back with this update but instead we got Spooky Team Leader.

Also, Epic could fuck off with that explosive buff.

Damn im loving the leaked skins this week! Maybe they look apocalyptic due to the upcoming cube-nuke incoming. Wonder if its gonna completely trash the map.

Why in the fucking hell would they remove dual pistols? It's a nicely unique weapon among seven different assault rifles and ten different sniper rifles. They should've removed shit like scoped assault rifle far before dual pistols.

And explosive damage bleeding through walls is just another "what the fuck are you doing Epic?" moment. Gonna be so fun playing against duos or squads who've had good luck of finding explosive weapons (or getting them from their victims) and just being gangbanged through every orifice in a matter of seconds.

Like, what the fuuuck. There are things Epic should actually be fixing (ADD A FUCKING OVERHEATING MECHANIC TO MINIGUNS) but then they continue making these idiotic changes.

Why would you add overheating to miniguns. They're terrible as-is and require someone to be standing still essentially to kill them.

Surprised so many hate the dual pistols vault, weapon sucks lol.
It didnt. You probably picked it up a couple times like I did at first and saw that it had no first shot accuracy and never really tried to use it. If you just used the dot to aim though, woof. The things were a beast.

I picked it up quite frequently, especially if it was the first gun I ran into. Guess I just never could get used to it then, always felt weird to use and my early game was always worse when I had one.

Although I guess that's not really a reason to vault a gun, I suppose.

Bought STW this week. I am trying to wrap my head around everything it has going but jesus, its like I need a degree in biochemical engineering to figure some of this stuff out. The tutorial is really bad and does not really do a good job at explaining the real goals. Having said that, I still really like it and it has improved my play in BR already. Not to mention free V-bucks.

I got it originally to help with my aim and building. I know the aiming is not the same, but it has helped me. I was able to go play some BR afterwards and quite a few kills and a win. So in the end, I think STW has been worth it for me.

There's a ton to dig into and understand in STW so please let us know if you have any questions! I've been playing for well over a year now and I'm still figuring things out lol.

Do people not realize that the explosive damage update is their first attempt at implementing bullet penetration? Now, if you have rockets and someone is turtling in a 1x1 you can blow them up and they'll die from damage penetration. This will hopefully make turtling a lot less annoying and may lead to them implementing it all weapons.

As a noob I'll stick my neck out and say I like the glider deploy staying around. Breaks up the monotony of Fortnite turning into a running simulator.

Boo for vaulting the semi-auto sniper rifle, as that was the only one I was close to being decent with.

That motony was already broken with all the rifts/vehicles/movement boosting items. Now they need to vault all those because they are completely useless.

How are they useless? You still have to farm a bunch to get materials to make a high enough platform to glide long distance off of, which then depletes your materials for fighting. I still use the rifts or vehicles where I can to get around.

You really really don't, farming is extremely quick as it is and you can get a shitload without no issues whatsoever.

The team that worked on Balloons must be pissed their content got pushed out in the same patch that makes deployable gliders permanent.

It's like if someone was working on a new grenade for a patch where targeted missile strikes were being added to the game.

I'm not going to miss the semi-auto sniper but the dual pistols were amazing.

I'm guessing some people didn't realize you could hold the trigger down. They dealt a lot of damage.

I'm a big fan of the silenced pistols, so as long as those are in, I won't miss other pistols too much.

Dualies seemed inoffensive enough to not need to be vaulted, tho.

Ergh just read that they're keeping glider redeployment in normal modes too.

I'm also not in favour of that. I loved being able to punish people for doing stupid building. Now people can build up to the sky and there's no downside. :/

Makes sense in 50s or whatever, but normal modes? Meh.

I think the balloons and being able to deploy your glider compliment each other. What's the point of flying up high with your balloons if there is no way to slow down your fall?

I'm with you on the redeploy (and being a noob). Semi Auto sniper was ok too, not sure why they vaulted that. If anything they could have done
- grey burst
- guided rocket (or you know, just buffed it and left it in)
- thermal or scoped AR sniper rifle
- chillers but theres a challenge surrounding those
- Vault the crossbow after Fort Nightmares is over
- Double Barrel Shotgun

Yeah Im not getting the point of using 6 balloons (I did so and just went up instead of up and over) or of trying to land with balloons (you die to fall damage half the time). You can just pop them in the air and glide out of them which I guess is what they intend? Shrug.

Thanks for the discussion and feedback you've provided. Please continue letting us know how we can improve this feature, your thoughts on its effect in matches, and any other feedback you may have as we continue to work on Glider Re-deploy.

I was just reading this quote again and it's pretty obvious they have no intention of getting rid of it despite the massive damage it does to the sandbox and game balance. Totally disillusioned with this change and everything about the way they've handled it. It's not really on to ask for people's feedback only to blindly ignore it. It's pretty simple Epic. Don't fix things that aren't broken and don't try and improve things that are so broken they should simply be removed.

The balloons sound like a feature that was designed for a game without redeploy. Makes you wonder if Epic are remotely unified on the glider change.

It's hilarious that balloons are epic rarity but you find them fucking everywhere. Rarities mean WHACK.

Explosive damage through builds is the worst thing I have ever seen added in a patch. Not just from Fortnite. Not just from Epic. But literally ever.

Who in gods name made that decision? Honestly...

Oof, easily the worst patch they've ever released. Game was in a perfect state before glider redeploy came into play. Whoever thought explosive damage through structures was a good idea needs to be slapped. They did not think at all about how that would affect duos and squads. Enjoy your instakill gangbang from 2+ people carrying a single stack of 3 grenades. Then there's vaulting duelies for some reason, even tho those were in a perfect state. Bringing back the revolver but making it worse and making it a more inconsistent pistol with slightly better damage.

Started a solo for the piano shit at pleasant, got a shotgun as safety and 3 clowns are having a pickaxe fight so I cleaned up and did the challenge with some other dude who was cool.
Left at 20 hp and went on to win a solo royale lmao, last dude wasn't a challenge and panicked with close range grenades mixed with gold zombies

Miniguns are fucking OP in the right hands, especially in duo and squad if you have even a one man advantage. If you're 2v4 and there's one (or even worse, two) people with miniguns, you might as well give up.

Endless rapid fire that destroys walls almost immediately is an insane advantage to anyone who knows how to use it to put pressure on an opponent that is almost impossible to fight against because the buttfuckage just never ends, all the while the other opponents can relocate themselves to a position that becomes impossible to counter. At least other weapons have loading times that can give just enough room to breathe for experienced players to make a stand against a team with an advantage but minigun just takes away that possibility.

And nah, you don't have to stand still. Minigun isn't necessarily the main killing weapon, it's the ultimate support weapon that nets you a few hits here and there to weaken enemies for tons of support kills while someone else gets into a better position to get the actual kill. Minigun just never ends to give that chance of retaliation.

As a guy who almost always plays solo, I find miniguns to be schmuck bait -- you have to be a schmuck to use it.

Literally, that is the entire point of the mini-gun, otherwise, it would just be an SMG.

I guess it's time to vault this shit if glider redeployment is staying, it was fun while it lasted.
