That Undertale vs Mother 3 post... I can't imagine it could possibly be serious, like, why? How? What is so wrong with Undertale? It's like the most wholesome game ever. Apparently the fanbase is really annoying, but I think it's way overblown. Perhaps I'm biased since I love the game, but I just don't get it. Perhaps it's because I basically don't really use social media and see let's plays (thpugh recently I heard some people were harassing Markiplier about playing the Genocide route I guess, and that sucks).
Anyways, I look forward to seeing if the Grinch leak is real tomorrow. I think it's probably an extremely elaborate fake at this point, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Although Quote seems to be the internationally loved & most iconic Indie Rep, Undertale's hella popular worldwide & may have earned the second-in-command title. & hopefully knocking Meat Boy out of the Top 3. If Nicalis was being weird about Smash because of their own crossover games, Sakurai may have went to Toby Fox instead.
As much as I love Shovel Knight, he's not the be-all, end-all of Indies.
I'd heard Undertale being called a "Tumblr" game before in a derisive tone, which, while dumb, I can kind of see the reasoning for. Saying "incel" applied to it just shows a complete misunderstanding of what the game is about.

You should post who it is during the first minute of the direct, since it'll make your guess public but no one will really see it until afterwards.

Very excited for tomorrow. Glad we'll know the full day one roster, but I'm certain, regardless if DLC teased in any capacity, this thread will turn into a DLC character beg fest. I'm going in with low expectations: Ken, Incineror, perhaps a new Square rep that's been teased. Any other characters will be a welcome surprise, but I'm going with 3 newcomers max.
I remember someone from GameXplain (I forgot who it was) that said that Shovel Knight has been in sooooo many things now that he's gotten practically indifferent to seeing him appear in another game now. That included Smash Ultimate.
I am asking myself the same question; it's hard to say, as I see Ultimate being a platform for Smash Bros. content through at least the end of Switch, and maybe even a Deluxe port with all DLC will be on whatever comes after Switch. There's just no way Sakurai can top Everyone Is Here without, well, doing the same thing again and adding >10 more characters...the series is either going to get a big shakeup or be based on Ultimate for a long, long time.
That said, I don't see the hype cycle as ending with tomorrow's morning; rather, I see it as the beginning.

I need to go to bed, & can't see the Direct until 6:30. Between this, The Good Place having a new episode, & not getting to play Delta Rune tonight, tomorrow's going to feel like an eternity. Still, I look forward to the post-Direct hype tomorrow night.
