If exclusive content deals all amounted to stuff as harmless and trivial as this then surely that would be more beneficial to us gamers?
MS paying a company to deny PS4 owners a whole game for 12 months is anti-consumer.
Sony paying Activision to wait 7 days before allowing Xbox owners the opportunity to be exploited by MTs and lootbox gambling is so benign by comparison that it's almost amazing that no-one in Sony's marketing dept realised how much of a absurd waste of money it is for them... whereas to the gamer, it's entirely immaterial; if not a boon.
Why does this matter everyone seems to hate the micro transactions anyways lol, now people are mad it's not there on one platform yet. Which is it nowadays?
Yeah, this isn't news. I mainly play Zombies (due to horrible internet it's only Zombies for me right now), but I'm ultimately happy about these changes since it changed from 30 to 7 days exclusivity
You know Sony has timed exclusive games too, right? If exclusive content deals all amounted to stuff as harmless and trivial as this then surely that would be more beneficial to us gamers?

Oh, I get it. Not the case in that example - those were exclusivity of full games (and in some cases of developers). Was that full games or actual content within the games? I am more curious about the latter.
Like was MS the first one to monetize a deal that content was only on their platform for X amount of time, even though the game was out for both consoles?
You must be confused. This thread was created for certain people to excoriate Sony for doing something they praised on Xbox last gen.
What find funny is how you are trying to spin MS into this conversation. Especially when all gen Sony has been paying for timed exclusivity on many games (crash bandicoot, nier automata, hellblade etc) and have had a history of paying to keep games off of other systems completely or timed since the beginning (street fighter 5 this gen, GTA off of Xbox, The OG tomb raider 2 from the sega Saturn) So instead of trying to spin this into something else, why not address the OG topic
A console not getting microtransactions for a whole week is a good thing though?
I mean I am missing something. People are upset because non-psn users have to wait a week to buy cosmetic gear? Is that an issue? People are upset because they can not spend their money on trivial shit sooner?
That persecution complex. You must be confused. This thread was created for certain people to excoriate Sony for doing something they praised on Xbox last gen.
Isn't this just because the exclusivity deal is tied to all content , and content set to be rolled out is mtx driven so no reason to release mtx on platforms with no mtx content yet?
Maybe they have some concerns about flipping the switch on mtx so leveraging the deal as a risk mitigation opportunity lol.
You must be confused. This was to point out an absolutely ridiculous situation that I would have called out on any platform.
But please, go on and tell me about my brand bias again.
I'll wait.
7 days of exclusive MTX or a game that was announced as multi platform and then mysteriously became a timed exclusive out of nowhere? Hmm.
Besides, how are people coming to the conclusion that Sony somehow paid for this? Activision could have just as well came to Sony with the idea and they said ok. Some of you are trying way too hard.
yes, which in itself is worse than any MTX
Not a single reviewer would have a issue with the current system.
it's about the most benign system or had in, like, the last 4 or 5 games now.
everybody knew they were coming, Call of Duty Points have been known for quite a while, and there's no review that would have any issues with the current system.
I think you are misunderstanding me. The other user was excusing Sony for this because Microsoft does something that, according to him, was even worse. I was pointing out that they both do shitty stuff on a constant basis, often even the same shitty stuff.Sony Too(TM)
Good gosh... some of you guys need to learn how not to get triggered each time someone mentions something remotely negative about your favourite platform of choice.

Is this a bragging thread now? ;)You must be confused. This was to point out an absolutely ridiculous situation that I would have called out on any platform.

No I just want a little overboard when someone insinuated that this thread was to shame PlayStation finally.
