https://sensortower.com/blog/dragalia-lost-revenue-first-month

About 67 percent of the game's revenue during its first month came from Japan, the key market Nintendo and co-developer Cygames created the title for. Looking at only revenue and installs there, we estimate that Japanese players have spent an average of $25 per download in the first month, compared to about $8.50 spent per install in the U.S. By comparison, Fire Emblem Heroes grossed $5.80 per download in Japan during its first 30 days there.

The value packs when you first start the game are a really good value, especially compared to the base price for the premium currency which is a straight up ripoff.

So that means that its engagement is very good, but its awareness is low.

That's a better position to be in than the opposite for sure! Awareness is a lot easier to fix and will no doubt improve over time, especially as it continues its worldwide rollout.

Right now, Tokyo's subway lines are carpeted with Dragalia Lost ads and posters. They're definitely taking it seriously from a promotional perspective.

'Lost revenue per download' is really weird to read. I think this could have benefited from some punctuation, heh.

that's about how much I have put in to Pokemon Go in a year, or two years of Clash Royale.

Mighty impressive dedication :O

What a surprise, Japanese people are obsessed with waifus.

Also, those absolutely garbage rates sure probably helped make them spend more.

I should give it a shot.

I'm constantly surprised at the revenue for Fire Emblem - I like the game and have played a fair bit but the price for orbs is absolutely ridiculous.

edit - huh, it's not out? I don't see it in the Play store.

The game has plenty of value packs that skip the RNG so it feels easier to spend money because you know exactly what you're going to get.

You can spend money on a month's worth of stamina refills or on specific crafting materials, as opposed to FEH where you're really only ever spending money on more spins on the gacha.

The low rates are pretty overblown since this is a game all about grinding and if you put in enough effort buffing up your dudes you can clear probably 99% of the game's content with 3*s. Heck, there's a guy over in the game's OT who has an alt account where he doesn't do any pulls at all and he's been clearing all the events with the characters the game gives every player for free.

Packs they provide are way too hard to sleep on. Jumped right on it when I saw the amount of diamantium it provides.

It's only been released in the US, Japan and small parts of Asia.

Why has there been such a delay in releasing the game outside of JPN and USA? Is this on Cygames or Nintendo?

It is a shame that only the Japanese dub seems to be fully voiced too. There is barely any voice in the English dub

When I was in Japan in September, I saw the trailer play on a huge screen at Shibuya crossing like a dozen times during my visit.
