Didn't know this could happen. Might be a pre-setup type building, if I can find it I'll check it.

While I don't agree with what he says I do kind of feel like this is a linear open world game

Does this make sense to people?

I always feel on rails in RDR2, even if I'm going to do side stuff. I always feel boxed in. There's something about RDR that I find very stultifying.

This might be why I dislike it I think.
Sorry this doesn't make sense to me. Can you explain more? Boxed in? It's one of the most open games I've ever played.

So I think I've done 3 Micah missions now and my god have they made me hate his character lol. I hope I get a chance to off him a some point in the story

I tried killing the legendary bear and it killed and dragged me off. How long until it respawns again? When I resurrected he was nowhere to be found.

Also is it possible to fend him off with the knife? Do you press RT or another button?

I was struggling with the shooting mechanics in this until I switched to Free Aim. I am hoping I can defeat him this time. I just have the fully upgraded Springfield. I wonder if I need a more powerful gun?

Just did the first crap mission
steal the stagecoach for that guy
It was a waste of time. I guess if you did it wrong it would've been different though ha

Just had a weird conversation with one of the girls at the camp. She asked if Arthur wanted to have a talk and he started going on about how he's been going crazy and killing innocents for no reason. I thought I've been playing fairly honourably haha

Yeah, this chat is a great idea but not working properly.
My Arthur was chatting about all the animals he had killed needlessly (I hunted a bit but never killed anything that I did not skin or sell after).

This game is something else on Xbox one X judging by the images. Amazing!

The missions are certainly linear but the world itself with its multitude of activities is just begging to be explored.

Between the pace of movement and controls as well as the massive amount of time it takes to get anywhere I never feel fully free in this game.

It feels like the choices you make in this game surface more in the role-playing parts, the little details. Pressing "greet" or "antagonise" or shaving your beard or playing poker. But when it comes to grander scale open world stuff I kind of feel suffocated by how this game feels.

So at one point I'm making friendly conversation with John Marston, and Arthur casually chides him that it must make him nervous being so close to the water. Excellent callback to the fact that even the smallest amount of water is enough to kill John in RDR 1.

Go to Valentine and retrieve the Gunslinger missions, I believe the guy who gives them to you will be sitting in one of the bars there.

By doing those, you will get some of the best revolvers/pistols early right from the get go.

Best horse of in the game is located West of Lake Isabella it's an all white horse and looks awesome. That lake is Northwest of the map.

Do you need to find/catch that horse or is it part of a mission?

How do you best figure out where to go for a specific animal you need? I need some raven feathers, and I'm kinda resorting to killing a deer and rolling the die on what kind of predator bird shows up.

Apparently it's canon now that John can't swim. Or at least based on some mission banter anyway.

I'm in Chapter 4, and the last mission of Chapter 3 is by far the best, so atmospheric and the music is amazing, the game need more of this kind of mission, which made RDR so good,a lot of stupid boring missions,I really like this game, even with all flaws, but I'm 43% story completition and I'm tired, I can't wait to finish and move on.

The herd mission,Arthur jokes about John's unable to shepherd and swim.

There will be areas on your map that have animals drawn on them, like the first game, and that is a general area where they appear with some frequency.

Is it possible for one of the random events involving the O'Driscols, to
Save the lawmen from them when they are trying to break out one of their guys from a carriage?

Scopes are your friend. Make sure to look at their info to see the way to get a perfect kill (Rifle, repeater, bow, varmint rifle, different ammo types, etc). Stars indicate pelt quality (3-stars = pristine).

I would add: (1) use scout vision to track your own scent, or how the wind affects your scent, to position yourself relative to the target. (2) Once you have your target lined up, press Call to get your target to poke its head up. (3) Activate dead-eye to slow down time and highlight the critical areas. (4) Move your cursor over the hot-spot/critical area at the target's head. (5) Once you get a SINGLE X-mark on the head, inactivate dead-eye to fire.

These head shots, either with the Varmint-rifle for smaller animals and birds, or with the bow for larger animals, results in high quality pelts more often than not, for me.

Maybe I played the game wrong, but I never got jumped by bounty hunters. I only had them even attempt to come after me once

After delivering the letter to Penelope Braithwait, I could see them on the map coming for me, but I had already hopped on a nearby boat to escape the mission area, so they never got close.
Then again, I nearly main-lined the story, so maybe you have to be just shuffling around the open world a while doing side quests before that happens.

Rode my horse across a covered bridge, and when I was halfway across a horror movie sting played and three O'Driscolls popped up at the other side of the bridge and started shooting at me in an ambush. Clever bastards.

One spot of Dead Eye killed all three of 'em. Sorry, bros. You still suck.

Decided I would go and try to get the white arabian horse that people are talking about. Got there, took me 5 mins to spot it, I get about 10ft away from it and it high tails it away from me. Now, after spending another 30 mins trying to locate it again I have had zero luck. Looks like ill be sticking with my war horse for a little bit longer.

Thanks, that's good info. The problem I'm having is finding animals lol. Like, I'll be in a mission and could slap an elk there's so many running around. But not when I'm hunting lol. I've been using bait as well but no real luck. I'll just keep at it, it's relaxing lol.

Wow I totally forgot about my scent. I'd go into scout vision and wonder why I'd see a wisp floating around me, but I now realize it's my scent in the wind! Pretty cool detail.

So an animal could be picking up my scent and running? I could use that scent remover to help, yes?
