Yep, 10. 5 left since they said 15 initially IIRC.
So we're at 3(in Japan) released, now we can assume stuff like Puzzle games are more likely to be released alongside other games due to lower issues. I think we'll see an accelerated release rate when possible at least 2 a month, otherwise we won't see wave 2 till November of next year!

That port is amazing. I want it sooo much. :(
The fortunate thing about that port is that since it's based off of Sega Racing Classic (basically Daytona HD but with all references to the Daytona license gone; they did this version before they got the license back for the HD ports) if they ever lost the license and didn't feel the need to get it back, they have a more or less lawyer friendly version they could release on their own terms, ala OutRun with the non-Ferrari sprite edit.

This is so exciting. There are so many Dreamcast and Naomi classics and under appreciated gems I have been clamoring for a rerelease for a while now, at least internally. Hopefully at least one of the following will get to see the light of day: Scud Race, Daytona USA 2, Cosmic Shash, Power Stone (both of them), and many others mentioned in this thread.

Correction, we're at 11 out of 15 games in wave one announced. I'd say from what we've seen and know, I could see Alex Kidd, Collumns 2, Sonic 2, and Thunder Force AC all being released alongside another game. Gain Ground and Virtua Racer are likely stand alone releases. Then again from what they've said they have people working on all of them and release them as they complete them. oh and the announced games I didn't mention were Space Harrier and Out Run.

Would there be licensing issues for Virtua Tennis 2 or did it not use real tennis players? I can't remember.

Wave 1 might be over 15 games, I remember it being clairified as "at least 15 games". I'm expecting a lot more 3D Classics retreads to show up too (Sonic 2, Puyo Puyo Tsu, Afterburber 2, SOR1-2, Gunstar Heroes, Turbo Outrun, Power Drift, Fantasy Zone 1-2DX, etc) if not in Wave 1 then in Wave 2.

Sonic 2 was already announced. They also said they were aiming for more unreleased stuff that's never been ported before

I don't think we'll be getting any Naomi/Dreamcast games as part of wave 1. They'll probably be reserved for wave 2.

They've already said that they're gonna start by focusing on re-releasing the games that were part of the 3D Classics range, since most of the work for them is already done, with a few extra ones added in for good measure.

Woah the article got translated and well Oh man they seriously want to do Sega Star Wars and are just trying to get the approval! That'd be so sick, also Dreamcast/Naomi confirmed for wave 2. Also there's no set release schedule, but they are basically releasing them as fast as they can complete them(and originally wanted to finish wave 1, which is 15 games, this year) they are also hunting at a Naomi game they are working on already that's a big deal

Browsed through the article with google translate, seems the Sega Ages team really really wants to port Sega Star Wars arcade(model 1) to the switch lineup as their most wanted model one game

They recognize the licensing is unlikely though
They can have EA release a Star Wars Arcade Collection with the three Atari SW games, the three Sega SW games, and simulators of the Data East and Sega Pinball Games. Easy money.

Actually now that I think about it, I'm not sure ea has control over legacy ports like his one(or at least aren't opposed) I mean on PS4 we've seen super Star Wars, pod racer's revenge and bounty hunter all ported

Scud Race and Daytona 2 (now WHICH version of that do you want? Personally Battle On The Edge would be my fave) already emulate very well on Supermodel, they're both Model 3 and not NAOMI.

Very much doubt we'll see Scud Race as Sega has all but practically disowned it - I was very disappointed with the Retronauts guys glossing over it on their last Sega arcade podcast, especially considering what happened to it after the arcade game.

Did Top Skater was made under this hardware? because it would be terrific to get a console port

Can someone help clarify this? I'd like to know, too.

Top Skater was Model 2, IIRC.

Great, looking forward to those Cannon Spike and Project Justice re-releases.

Seriously, though, SEGA needs to re-release Sports Jam, Virtua Striker 2 ver. 2000, and Virtua Tennis. There are not enough sports games on this console. There are definitely not enough good sports games on this console.

Wild Riders looks very interesting!
Agreed. The pop-up panels are a little too big and block the view, but otherwise it looks fun.

Oh, god! Just imagine the original Atari Star Wars vector game with gyro controls to replicate the arcade control yolk! I would be Day Negative Infinity for that...!

Not enough good sports, fighting, or racing games. Sega would have almost no competition in these genres

Happy that M2 is finally doing Dreamcast and Naomi emulation. I know Saturn emulation has improved a great deal, but I'm guessing the complexity of the hardware is still keeping M2 away from focusing on it.

M2 have never emulated Model 2. They have done native ports of Model 2 games, like SEGA Rally PS2, but no emulation.

Likewise, I don't think that they've actually emulated any System 24 games before. I'm pretty sure that Gain Ground on Switch is the first time any System 24 game has ever had a proper emulated re-release.

I think you're right about the rest though. Virtua Racing Switch is also the first time they've ever emulated Model 1 as well.

So was Virtua Racing on the PS2 *not* emulation? I thought it was. There you go.

PS. I've somehow never played this before, should I add it to the list of shit I want M2 to port?

Dynamite Cop is fucking absurd, especially what happens when you beat the game with two players.

Die Hard Trilogy is also dope as fuck. I'd buy both games again (I have the discs, but one should have multiple ways to play Dynamite Cop in one's home, IMO.

Yeah I have the original, never beat it though. I'd take both on switch in a heartbeat

Say what about sega's house of the dead spinoff beatemup form that era too

I didn't realize Sega Rally PS2 was ported? It even has freeplay, old 94/95 dates, arcade credits and the arcade region warning at startup?

Gain Ground is the first System 24 but I'm only assuming it's emulated. I thought Virtua Racing was confirmed to be a port though?
