Lmao and here we go with these comments right on queue.

I've worked in government and politics for years and it only served to radicalize me and lose any and all faith in the Democratic Party. Senators like this weaken the party as a whole and if we keep depending on electing them, even if they help us to take power, they will stop us from accomplishing anything as we've seen happen over and over again.

Indiana has voted for one Democratic president since LBJ. And that was Obama by a little over 1% in 2008.

I'm a pragmatist and understand that less evil is still less evil. However, at some point, you're still left with the same result as if the more evil candidate were voted in anyways and results are just delayed. That's why ultimately, it's a losing proposition.

Thank you! What we are seeing in America now is creeping fascism. The fact that Trump is not 1:1 Hitler doesn't mean that things can't get far worse if both sides pander to the same deplorable assholes.

Surely a Republican in this seat would be better for the Democratic party. But then again you're 'radicalized', so not seeing the game for what it is is normal.

Wow you've convinced me

And there it is. Disingenuous.

"So you're not gonna vote for the democrat? What's your plan then? Let the Republican win?"

This is such a silly take. Being more conservative in majority conservative states isn't moving the whole party right.

And you think the take away from that is to put up center right candidates like this one instead of inspiring candidates like Obama that drive enthusiasm? I'm not saying Indiana is going to vote for a socialist but there's no question they can do better than Joe Donnelly.

They are the worst. They're gonna ride their purity right into the right wing controlling everything in this country for a generation. They remind me of the German Social Democrats during the rise of Nazism.

You might want to read up on the history of Weimar Germany, bud. It was the appeasement of centrist Andy right wing parties that allowed the Nazis to rise to power. You literally had the centrists clutching their pearls against anti fascist violence like the establishment Democrats today.

No question? That's the kind of hand waving nonsense that makes everyone just roll their eyes at you folks. Like if you just insist it must be true and people will figure it out for you. No research or evaluation or examination, just say it must be true because you want it to be and you're ruining everything if you disagree.

This thread is hilarious.

Most of you who are whining that this guy isn't left enough and should be voted out are just cutting off your own nose to spite your face.

But hey, let's get a Repugnican in there. Speed up the demise of my marriage.

It's not moving the party right because we've moved left in solid blue areas, but it has served to move the Overton Window right regardless. Dems have moved a bit left overall. Republicans have moved far to the right since Dubya's presidency and our party's blue dogs have been drug along with them.

You're right, I should definitely be content that the only thing this country has that even remotely resembles a left wing is a complete catastrophe

The Democrats as a whole are largely conservative compared to many parts of the world, however, if your solution to moving the country left is not voting for a candidate that is more left than their opponent, I don't really understand your logic.

i feel like he was trying to say "there's no way that is constitutional" couched in fear of pissing off white people.

hopefully by the end of 2020 we can have enough seats to make his votes irrelevant. i guess his next re-election would fall on 2024 so whoever tries to primary him can use presidential-year hype as a weapon.

Running candidates too far left to get elected doesn't solve that.

someone's gotta be first against the wall

Good to see we're persuing viable solutions.

Goddamnit. I'm an Indiana voter and I have to choose between Donnelly and Braun and honestly both are terrible. I hate when we're stuck with the lesser of two evils.
