Looks amazing. I cant wait... I just dont know why they rendered the video at 25fps.

As someone with no nostalgia for the original, I really can't get on board with those jank animations. Seems likela missed opportunity to broaden the appeal of the game. Going to have to pass on this one.

That art style is outstanding... I'm only worried about combat due to you know, game system being passed it's time I suppose?

Either way it's day 1 for me one of my first PS1 games and it was amazing.

Only question remaining is why did they render this below 30fps

Hmm, remaking a PS1 game in 4K should look like a PS4 game. This looks like something between PS2 and PS3 level. And it's one more proof that PS1 games haven't aged well mechanically.

At least the atmosphere and soundtrack seem cool, but I was expecting more honestly. Still, they should take their time to release it, no worry.
But PS4 games don't run in 4K... this does, and therefore targets a visual level that allows for that resolution (i.e., one of lesser fidelity than a PS4 game). It also doesn't have the budget or the appeal for Sony to invest more than that. You really thought this game would look like a PS4 AAA game and run at 4K?

Medievil was so good, really sucks it never became one of the bigger Sony franchises. Day one buy for this.

Never played the original but I think this looks really cool. Definitely keeping an eye on it.

All I ever played of the original game was the demo that came with our PlayStation bundle and yet me and my cousins sunk so many hours into it. This looks pretty good. I'm finally gonna get to experience Medievil past the demo, I'm really looking forward to it!

Is it possible to hit enemies in Medievil without taking damage yourself? Because that trailer makes it look pretty tricky.
The trick to fighting in the PS1 games was to constantly stay on the move, use kind of hit and run tactics to avoid damage. You also have a shield, but the control layout made it practically useless, so I'd hope that is fixed for this.

I've never played the original, but this looks rough. The framerate seems really bad.

Whether you picked up the original or never heard of the original, we know you'll love the sword swinging, perilous puzzles and enchanting environments. Brought back to life by our International Software Development team in partnership with Other Ocean Interactive, this a full remake of the original PS1 classic – with all of the scarecrows, zombies, werewolves, and mace-wielding knights lurking in the kingdom with more detail and personality than ever before.

Also some of the original people are working on it too.

Tons of fucking people, which would be why requests for it popped up so frequently.
Yeah I also really hate questions like that the PS userbase is vast and varied lots of people want different things

Umm at first I was excited about Medievil Remake but I was waiting an update of the game more than a N-Sane like, 1:1 remake. The combat looks dated and graphics seems... Average. Will wait more more impressions

I replayed the PS1 game on my PS3 a couple of years ago. Yep, this looks just like I imagined it. That movement and combat, though... appears quite faithful to the original, but that was the roughest part of that game. It was kind of unforgiving or just unfair with hit detection.

I like the progress. It needs more polish before I'm in on it.

I think you need to check your vision or something. It doesn't look unlike many PS4 games.

Seems like a lot of people were expecting this to be a 100% original remake? It's just like SotC 2018 where it sticks to the games original base, but replaces all the visual assets with modern ones. The original game was always janky in terms of controls and combat, so it makes sense they are here. This is what I was expecting with the way Sony talked about it.

Looks fun, I never played any Medievil games outside a demo of the first game so pretty excited. Will take a bit of time getting used to the combat by the looks of things, and I imagine that could be the dealbreaker for audiences unfamiliar with this series.

Hope it does well! :)
