I think calling the leaking of game information "guidance" is disingenuous. I don't think people leak things for anyone's sake but their own, deep down.
In any case, I think this insinuation has incredibly condescending overtones. The idea that people need to be "guided" lest they become disgusting monsters who harass people and spew vitriol is insulting and conveniently supplements the nature of what leaking actually accomplishes.

I can't wait to watch the direct! I hope they show some cool new game modes (or old ones with some twists) for single/co-op plays.
About the characters, I'm happy with the current cast and my hopes are mostly impossible, but I would love to see Medusa, an Advance Wars' CO, a Rhythm Heaven fighter, and other minor IP representations like Drill Dozer, Ouendan or The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls. About the third Party guests... Rayman, Slime, Heihachi and Travis are fine by me.
Edit: I will be out of ERA until the direct, I see a lot of hints and rumors in the last hours and I don't want to be spoiled when we will know all in 24 hours...
Thanks. Everyone in the know (apart from Verge) has been great at keeping things quiet. Wouldn't be great to have the surprises spoilt at the last hurdle.

If they mention any DLC plans at all in this Direct, the discussion here will immediately turn to DLC character speculation... Smash fans are ravenous lol.

I don't agree that all insiders are contradicting each other. Let's just disregard what Mystic said and focus on Emily/Vergeben/Imran.
Vergeben said that we're missing Incineroar, Ken and a SE character. Emily is confident about Incineroar. It's safe to assume Ken and Incineroar are in.
Then, the SE character. Imran expect no big 3rd party rep in the direct. Both of those put together points at Geno to fit the conditions.
Then there's the one more missing character from Emily. Nothing really pointed at who could it be so far.

This isn't exclusive to Smash by the way. Mystic in general kind of acts like this so it doesn't really come off as anything unusual or shady.
Mystic is a super cool dude that you should follow if you like KH and Atlus news.

Depending on whether you trust insiders or not, it either wasn't debunked or every insider disagreed with it.
Not so sure about that, especially if Emily didn't agree at all with Mystic's confident picks (Isaac and Geno)
Geno's my #1 want, but Emily's comments aren't making it look great.

idea: What if the Grinch leak came from Dreamworks? Like they knew millennials weren't gonna see that movie and figured out the best possible way to get them discussing the Grinch. So they made a really elaborate fake leak.

Yes, but the comments everyone is commenting on are his Isaac and Geno ones, with Emily even quoting one about Geno. Would like to be wrong, but signs aren't great at the moment.
