The worst this leak has done is get my hopes up, despite being #teamFake since the start. But never say never, not until tomorrow at least :P
Could Geno really ruffle square feathers that much I mean everyone knew Geno will be in before sora or someone else

Dude all your logic is sound; but none of these are specific requests, just ideas of the sort of things I'd like. I think it's pretty realistic to expect that the entire newcomer lineup wouldn't be characters from games I've never played; so I'm just frustrated at my bad luck.
Relevancy doesn't mean a thing in this case, again Mega Man and Castlevania are a good example. Mega Man was added while his series was regarded "dead", Castlevania hasn't seen a new release in years and only has a series and ports gong on currently.
And you say they were added because they used to be big, and that's the reason why I think DQ has a shot. Because it was and still is big, bigger than those 2 series. And not only for Japan, but for the whole gaming industry. DQ is what made JRPG's similar to what Street Fighter was for 2D fighters. And it's a good time for DQ in the West, with us getting spin offs like DQ Heroes and Builders, along with a new main line title with DQXI.
Because of that, I think it would be a bigger deal than Sora being in Smash.
I think a lot of the leaks have been really cool. But realistically, Inkling is in. Ridley is in. K Rool is in. I've gotten the most realistic newcomers I've actually wanted. There's no way that Thursday can disappoint me much, if at all.

So Geno is probably in.
It would make the most sense since Shadow and Issac were ATs before so like porting them over wouldn't be too much work.
The Korean Nintendo youtube only has two videos set to publish for the direct. X_X That implies 1-2 characters and maybe an echo.

I was over him being absent from Smash 4 completely, but the current hype cycle has reignited my wish for him to be playable.

But the Nintendo YouTube accounts aren't the ones to upload the Smash trailers. There's a Smash account that does that.

I mean I agree with you, I'm clearly on #TeamSkullKid here.
But look at the newcomers we've gotten so far, they're filling in pretty glaring gaps in the roster to make this game live up to it's name of Ultimate. Zelda doesn't need anyone else to be complete right now like Metroid and Donkey Kong did.
Square-Enix seems like the type of company who would get really angry about ANY leak, whether it was expected or not. After all, if someone is leaking relatively minor information now, they're sure to leak major information that they may get their hands on in the future.

I think that Verg is wrong at this point. I don't think Minecraft content is in without Banjo, I don't think Isaac is an AT.
Yeah, in a sense that is better than a character for MH anyways as far as accurate representation goes. And honestly Rathalos' presence decreases a need for a whole character to rep the series.
Lol, not at all. Not all KH fans are the die hards who play every game and comb over every detail. Plenty of KH fans have never touched DDD. Even people who have probably weren't aware they were from something rather than just being new original KH characters.

Yeah with Emily's comment it seems like Isaac is definitely out. If we go by Imran's comment about no big 3rd party rep, then the SE character Vergeben is talking about can only be Geno.
