Heads up people!

If you've just started or consider starting or already cosplay, there's a humble bundle of cosplay and props related books and it's pretty huge!

https://www.humblebundle.com/books/cosplay2-books

Note that initially the money distribution was setup as 40-60 between authors and Humble, nothing went to MSF...be sure to check your money split before checking out.

Is anyone working on any cosplays?

My husbando and I are gearing up for Megacon in orlando later this month. We're mostly ready to go except for a few odds and ends. Doing Agent Cooper and a waitress from Twin Peaks, Star Trek Officers (I'm OS and he's doing doing movie dress uniform), Princess Leia and Obi-Wan, and Maleficent.

i should do something for Vienna ComicCon again, which is in November - yet to decide what to go for. It's double the work, since i'm the one who makes both, my girlfriend's and my own costume.

Last year's WonderWoman ended up being really draining :/

Oh man! It sounds like you might be a little drained. Is there an older cosplay you could re-wear, or could use an upgrade? I've had cosplay burnout for the last few years, so I've been scaling my projects back.

I have cosplayed before, and am currently working on an armor build for MAGfest next year. It is taking a lot of time to build.

Wait, what? Is that not photoshopped?

Doesn't look it, but there's some makeup to get her cheek contours, ets.

I've always been a huge fan of Cosplay but never actually did much.

Since I'm a black belt in Goju-Ryu I did Ryu one con, etc.

But starting this weekend I'm working on making Star Guardian Jinx's Super Mega Death Rocket as a prop for her cosplay.

I expect lots of drinking and cursing as we try to figure out EVA foam for the first time.

If we make any progress I'm happy with I'll post some pics.

I have a decent enough Spiderman Homecoming suit.
My Poe Dameron X-Wing Pilot uniform.
I can always just genderbend Force Awakens Rey again.
I have Episode 4 Han Solo. (thinking of adapting that for my girlfriend, though - i feel like that'd look rad)

Don't think i'd have the time / energy this year to do a lot of EVA foam work. I think i won't do that again until we move to a bigger place that has a spare room which i can turn into some kind of workshop. Having to do the cutting on our dinner table and then take the parts to my parents' house where i do the Dremeling / Spraypainting, that's just so much logistical overhead. (Also, i'd have no idea where to put all that shit ... like, i need a house.)
Sewing on the other hand would be much easier to pull off, but my tailoring skills are - let's say - not all that great :/

Off to East European Comic Con this weekend, might have a few pics to post in here. I'll be in costume though so expect potato pics.

Is this the place to go to for help making a cosplay, or is that a different thread?

Me and my brother are doing a "couples" costume, in that hes going to be Spider-Man and I'm going to be Doc Ock.

We have most of what we need planned out, but the only issue we're having is (obviously) the tentacle arms and how yo make them articulate. I have a few ideas using PVC and other materials, but it would be nice to talk to someone who had made a costume before.

no clue what that's from, but it's wonderfully disturbing, not to mention incredible craftmanship.

MegaLeon - those costumes are incredible! Wow! She did a great job with modelling too. Great staging and poses.

Old Gaffer checking in, recently got into cosplay with my wife. Haven't done any professional shoots yet, but here's some pics from RCCC. We did genderbent Joker and Harley.

That was our first real go at it, and we got hit with the bug hard. Already have tickets for ECCC, and have been working on costumes for each day. We definitely like the genderbent stuff, so doing a bit more of that. From MHA, she has an Aizawa costume, and I'm doing Midnight. Then she really wanted to do Maka from Soul Eater, so I'm doing Professor Stein. Then we'll resurrect this one with some slight changes for a third day.

Hopefully we'll be able to get some better pics :)
