Yeah that is the curse of the AC stages: great layout but really boring looks and music. At least there's a lot more legal stages this time that look good, like Fountain of Dreams and hopefully Unova Pokemon League.
Plus, because there are so many stages this time, they want to get things like stage legality quickly out of the way so that they don't cause endless debates and ban Duck Hunt for no reason again.
