Awesome, thanks! That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure.
Not sure yet but being that we need high level crafting materials gotten from nuke zones and high level mobs as well as blueprints I'm guessing they are making it a bit more challenging. How is loot going to work in terms of the longevity of the game? I am a total sucker for loot, but most BGS games disappoint in that regard because you can max everything out fairly easily by exploiting the game's crafting system. Will this game be different?

Pretty sure it is random but people will obviously flock to high level for the better drops. There is also stuff like mobs that drop bodyparts Like a deathclaw tooth or something. There is probably items that need specific drops from certain mobs.I hope there isn't specific loot in predefined places otherwise people will just go there and get the good gear. I'm ok with a base power armor chassis being in a certain place but not all the upgrades. I just don't want it to be discovered that there is a powerful item at a certain place. Loot should all be random imo.
Will there be variations in the weapons that can be looted? Like, can you get a weapon with certain bonuses as a drop?
Sweet, this is what I was hoping for. Thanks.Weapons can have legendary effects of which the current assumption is a weapon can have up to 5 so that's probably a big part of the farming

My issue with turning Fallout into what is basically gonna be a looter shooter is that the shooting and combat has never been the strong point of Fallout games. Previously VATS at least added some fun factor, but that's now gone to make it work in a multiplayer game.
It feels like they're stripping away the fun parts of the Fallout games and only keeping the parts you normally just put up with to experience those fun parts.
Nothing I've seen so far has made me think they've fundamentally made the combat better, and that, along with the bad performance, makes me pretty certain I won't be buying this.
I expect the same, but I'll try the beta to verify my reservations. I'm mostly concerned by the lack of proper NPCs but we'll see how that affects the experience. My issue with turning Fallout into what is basically gonna be a looter shooter is that the shooting and combat has never been the strong point of Fallout games. You know I never played fallout 4 until 76 was announced. I bought the game simply to test the feel of the shooting and the game in general because I knew it was rough in new Vegas. I was actually pleasantly surprised and I'd go as far as saying it was the first Bethesda game in which I actually enjoyed the gameplay. Obviously it's not CSGO or on some refined competitive shooter level but it was far more enjoyable than I was expecting. But yeah I can't disagree with you I'm just glad I actually enjoy it cause it 100% would have made me pass on the game if I hadn't.My issue with turning Fallout into what is basically gonna be a looter shooter is that the shooting and combat has never been the strong point of Fallout games. That would make sense. I was honestly surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. I am usually a hardcore FPS snob and only played Counter Strike and Day of Defeat for years cause I could not stand the gunplay in anything else. It might just be cause combat is so godawful in every other bethesda open world game. I know it's a divisive opinion though. Some agree most disagree so I can't fault someone for disliking it.Bethesda enlisted the help of id Software to improve gunplay in Fallout 4. Supposedly it's even more refined in Fallout 76.
Felt miles better than borderlands awful gameplay and I put hundreds of hours into that game. Loot is addicting. I do hope there is something worth working towards in the endgame. balancing out rarity, drops, crafting etc can't be an easy ting.i thought Fallout 4's gunplay felt great. but basing an MMO-lite (or whatever you want to call it) around it i'm kind of iffy about. i just hope the potential is there with "endgame" guns not a bunch of rusty pipe pistols that have all kinds of crazy perks but fire off like molasses

any character build theories out there? ManyATrueNerd has a short video with his thoughts
We will get a SPECIAL point every level up to 50, so that means more skill points than in any other FO game to date. I'm not sure what will work well, but I'm thinking Intelligence, Charisma, and Luck will be my early-game focus. Intelligence for all the crafting, Charisma for perk sharing/potential Lone Wanderer (I want options whether in a group or solo), and Luck because high-level Luck broke FO4. With so many SPECIAL points available by level 50, there isn't a risk of wasting points.

No I meant how shooting felt in 4 in comparison to Borderlands. Borderlands obviously had better loot which is why I kept playing for so long eventhough I didn't enjoy the shooting mechanics. In 4 it was way to easy to just max out a gun with crafting.ahahaha sorry but nope
cant speak for fallout 76 since i barely had any time with it and i already see some positive changes (like weapons with several legendary effects) but loot in fallout 4 is pathetic. opening every locked container and most of the time still finding the same loot table shit with the same shitty pipe weaponry is insulting. npc drops are just slightly better but still as predictable according to the enemy archetype you`re killing. a good portion of the legendaries are underwhelming (they dont come close to the uniques from F3 and specially FNV) and the best equipment will most always be base equipment modded by yourself
Goddamnit I am interested in this game in all honesty but all I can play the game with is the standard PS4 and hrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmh, I am having concerns about it being super unplayable or something.
I don't ask much, to be honest, I am okay with how Fallout 4 plays on the regular PS4, for instance, but for some reason I am concerned about this one, for some reason I am thinking that even with my sub-standard expectations the performance will still go below it....
it runs well enough on my og xbox1, not even close to unplayable. id assume ps4 would be more than fine
granted i'm not very sensitive to framedrops and low framerate and stuff, but hey. your mileage may vary, watch some streams to get a more decisive answer.
I'm on OG XB1, too, and it plays just like Fallout 4 to me.Ohhh is that true? Well I suppose it's safe to assume that if it runs good enough in original xbox1 then PS4 should also be okay.
Like I said, I don't ask much, if it plays like Fallout 4 in base ps4 then I am okay with it.
It's true for me as well (Day One Xbox One owner). Most of the issues seem to be the game itself, not the system.Ohhh is that true? Well I suppose it's safe to assume that if it runs good enough in original xbox1 then PS4 should also be okay.

Thanks for the heads up.
Launcher time is two hours earlier than their advertised time. We don't know for sure which is the accurate one.13h to go.
Did they change the start time for today btw? I thought it was supposed to be midnight for us europeans but it's 10 p.m. according to the bethesda launcher. Not that I'm complaining.

I'm sad that Amazon Germany has no codes for the PC Beta anymore. Got a code for PS4 tho and already preloaded the client. Let's see if this captures the feel of Fallout.
Yeah saw that yesterday. But for a Beta that only runs from midnight to 4am in germany, I'd rather have a free key and take the risk. Well if I like the game I'll buy it on PC for sure, it will run well enough on my setup. You can buy a pc beta key for 1.70€ over at cdkeys.com
I know, 1.70€ not well spent, but if you really want to try out the pc version before buying the full game.
Midnight?! That's BS. I guess I'll have to wait until Thursday.
