From what I've parsed from Nate's rant

He doesn't care if people are believing the leak or think it could be real with the information out. It's speculation and everyone has their own take and I don't think he cares if you think it's real.

It's people insisting it is real and attacking the insiders for not telling information they shouldn't have to tell over a leak that as of right now is unconfirmed and saying that it is real and they are full of shit.

Who do you guys check for reaction vids about Smash (if you even watch those) ?
Personally my fav ones are always Etika for the hyperbolic reaction, Maximilian Dood and D1x.
I have refused to watch D1 vids since everyone is here where he screamed angrily about Mii's being back. He's one of the people who's made Mii mains suffer from the ruleset thst effectively bans them.

Competitive Smash rules and stuff kind of annoys me to be honest. It feels like you went to a friends house to play and they were like "Okay but half the game is off limits because it's not fair." Just doesn't seem that fun anymore tbh when I see 3/4 of the stage content being labeled as not playable.

You have to assume hazard toggle is factored into the list of safe moist ass dudes because Wily Castle has a tick of approval.

I find it odd that so many stages are dismissed for the smallest things yet rainbow ride is still in consideration

(and yeah I get why things are limited before someone jumps in here, to keep things as fair as possible, just think there's a bit too much gun jumping on some of these stages though)

Guys, the game itself is beautiful, they don't even need CG cutscenes. It can easily be in-engine and be on par with brawl's cutscenes.

It certainly looks great but there's only so much you can actually do with the in-game engine and animations. Like, you can't have that epic scene in the SSE where Kirby comes in on the Dragoon unless they make specific animations for things like that for just that one-time use.

Sorry Nate, disregard my previous posts.
It's fine. I addressed it later in the podcast. I was calling out those that harassed & threatened friends & colleagues. If you didn't engage in that activity then I wasn't addressing you. Some felt I was targeting everyone, but it was specifically those that have acted in a toxic manner. Emotions were high.

Exactly. I was angry when I said everything & wasn't perfectly clear. I generalized in my comments because I was mad.

Seeing people here talk about competitive Smash is yikes.

Like competitive players aren't telling you how to play the game, and when we dick around we turn on items and crazy stages too. But we also want to compete with as few things left to chance as possible, so stages with disruptive structures or RNG are bad.

Items are RNG and randomly give an advantage to somebody. This is bad for competitive play.

Even stages with walkoff sides are bad, because when they've been legal, players just camp by the blast zone so they can throw you off, this even happened in Smash 4's life cycle. It creates scenarios which are not skill testing, and which lead to degenerate play.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

My house doesn't play that way . Never will.

Some of these guys are so stuck in their ways that any deviation from their norm will be met with the utmost scrutiny .

Basically all the stages that have obvious advantages to certain characters like the moving ones (Rumble Falls, Icicle Mountain, Poké Floats) are cut anyway, or the ones which could be potentially broken (Jungle Hijinx).
Whatever anyway

Zero and M2K literally spend part of the video gushing over some stages that they end up banning. They love some of these janky stages just as much as we do.

It's too bad people are only going to see that list and not watch the video

Yeah, not sure what people are upset for.
These players still enjoy the content in casual play. I know the first stage I'll play in this game will be Dracula's Castle.

Even casual players have to endure walkoff cowards, I think that's a banner we can all unite under.
At least we'll always have Onett, forcing people to actually move at some point thanks to the cars. (but onett has a bunch of other issues so, yeah)

Pretty much the only valid justification for walk-offs is the stage having a mechanic that doesn't favor camping by it.

Someone already said it, but competitive players care about layout variety and not visual variety. And unlike in Smash 4 (where there was some small variety between the Omega mode stages) they are all identical to the regular version in this game.

I don't agree with it, but I can see why they would view Omega/Battlefield stages as redundant.

I mostly don't care about competitive ban stage in Smash, just let me play whoever I want, don't judge me. Yeah, I'm gonna lose to your Fox playing always as Snake, I don't care, I love his perfect butt gameplay style and he's my secret crush boy, I just wanna play as him.

What if Spirits is a create a character mode where you can use the movesets of other fighters to build your character? The "Spirits" of all the fighters.
I still think there might be some other new type of custom character in the game, which is why they haven't gone into the Mii customization at all (since they'd probably share some systems for outfits) - note that so far they haven't shown any variation of the Mii outfits at all - not even color swaps.

I'm so ready for the Kenciniroar trailer.
Starts off with Ryu and Lucario fighting to a stalemate in the boxing ring, you see Ryu step back and make a tag (via fistbump) to Ken who jumps over the ropes with a flaming tatsumaki and does his beckoning gesture, we cut to Lucario also stepping backwards towards the ropes when suddenly a giant claw whomps him on the back tagging himself in, Bah Gawd Inciniroar is here!

My main gotos for reactions are Etika, shofu, Maximilian, and Vinesauce. I've been watching D1's reactions lately ever since the Everyone is Here trailer.
