In just over a week according to my Steam. Why haven't we heard much about this title? It actually looks half decent.

I played the closed beta this weekend, enjoyed it immensely. the shooting mechanics are excellent, performance was good, graphics were pretty detailed coming from Payday 2 but........and its a huge but, it is no way affiliated with the walking dead as we know it apart from the title, its basically zombies/walkers in washington dc with 4 random people ala left 4 dead, there are even "boomers".

Not worth £45 just yet (from what i played of the beta anyway) but we know it will be supported for years so I wouldnt blame people for jumping in right now.

Hmm, Amazon Canada has it slated for February 5 of next year. I wouldn't count on it coming out next week.

Edit: The official Twitter does say next week, so that's bizarre. Are the console versions specifically delayed?

Edit again: Yup, only Steam in a week, consoles in Feb.

I got a beta key via email last week and couldn't be bothered to even redeem it. Even if it didn't look like Left 4 Dud, I wouldn't want to spend any money on an Overkill game.

Seems like it's way too late to ride the popularity of the show/manga/other games. Also, like that Cthulhu game, releasing it with little fanfare around Red Dead, Fallout, Hitman, Call Of Duty, Battlefield, Pokémon... good luck.

There's been very few overview videos from Overkill on what it's about, character trailers and streams don't cut it. The uploaded playthrough footage appears pretty unimpressive.

Recently found that it's running on Unreal 4, honestly thought it was an upgraded Diesel engine the entire time. By the looks of it they spent quite sometime reworking stuff from scratch going through Diesel 2.0, then Valhalla, and landing on Unreal in 2017. The Walking Dead was announced way back in 2014..

Wow Gamefly has release 2/5/19. I was looking forward to this, but the impressions don't sound good...

I thought this was delayed into 2019? There was a beta and everything? Yikes...

I fully expect this to be a disaster. Overkill games have some terrible combat and considering this is focused almost entirely on scavenging and shooting waves of zombies... yeah, it's gonna be rough.

World War Z is going to be the game that blows everyone away. Book it.

I played a bit

If you like Payday you'll like this I'm guessing.

At least in this game the zombie AI makes sense since you're fighting literal zombies.

So uh, the game's out now as of yesterday. I know there was a beta before, but does anyone have any impressions of the full game? Thinking about getting this for my boyfriend and I since 1) we enjoyed our time together in Payday 2, and 2) we love The Walking Dead. We got beta keys, but wound up not being able to play very much, and not together at all.

It is as if this has been sent to die. The last thing I read about this game was their decision to delay the console versions until early 2019.

It's weird. There's been like no advertising for it. I wouldn't have even remembered it was coming out this week if I hadn't seen someone mention it on Twitter, and I'm a huge fan of the franchise.

I'm really surprised there weren't commercials for it during this past weekend's episode of The Walking Dead on AMC or something, though I guess they may be waiting for the console launch before they try to get the word out to the mainstream crowd.

Side note: I just realized this week could have been really big for TWD. A new issue of the comic, the final episode of the show with Rick in it, the third episode of Telltale's final season, and this, all in a span of a few days... but the Telltale game's third episode has been delayed, and this game has gotten no publicity whatsoever.

Absolutely every single thing I've seen of it indicates that it's complete garbage.

Well, except for the CGI trailers that have nothing to do with the actual game. Some of them were alright.

very slow and poorly paced Left 4 Dead clone. Servers are also pretty empty and this is not singleplayer content at all...

really don't waste your time.

I keep looking at the title and thinking it's going to be a fusion of The Walking Dead and House of the Dead: Overkill. I want the game that exists in my head.
