Yeah same. I also think the remaining roster is Incineroar, Ken, Shadow, Geno and Isaac. 5 characters (3 brand new) is a lot, but I could see it happening.I just caught up to Ryce's post (that i'm screenshotting so he doesn't get pointlessly quoted):
So it does indeed sounds like the missing character is Incineroar, and that there are some characters in the banner that are the real deal based on his set of infos.
So we're dealing as a solid base of Incineroar + Ken is and fair to assume one more character from the banner in.
Going by how Vergeben is sure about a Square Enix rep, Geno is a safe bet, but I'd assume Shadow as well if only for his status of the easiest echo ever. Then you've got Isaac which possibly had an item leak already.

I could see Chorus Kids as DLC tho since they were probably cut from Wii U/3DS.

And if you still believe in your "Jonneh/GameXplain knows the whole roster since august" theory, then you should believe he's in since in september direct prediction discussion, the whole crew said "yeah... Geno is in, it's definitely time for him but he won't be revealed in this direct".

Yes please. While we're at it, can Knuckles also be promoted from AT to playable character. They can just steal his PM moveset.

Looking at the Smash reddit I've become convinced a lot of Smash fans are going to believe the rumor was real even when it's deconfirmed. Like there's going to be a conspiracy theory that Sakurai saw the leak was out there and so he cut and added in characters just to make it look like that the leak was fake or something stupid like that.
Again the Grinch leak hasn't been deconfirmed. Insiders aren't official sources of information
I know we'll kind of say "oh Chibi Robo can't be DLC or Chorus Kids can't be DLC". But honestly when you think about it, anyone can be dlc. They will all sell well enough. We shouldn't put a limit on ourselves when it comes to dlc.
I mean, even if the leak ends up being real, some of the internet sleuthing in the past day or two trying to find a smoking gun in support of it has been pretty dreadful and yet it all catches like wildfire every time someone thinks they've found something out of the ordinary, and even once it gets debunked it continues to spread anyway (particularly noticeable on reddit). I don't think that tweet is meant as a slam against everyone who believes the leak, but with no legitimate new information to work with, it's hard to deny the attempts to find something have been getting reachier and reachier.
This is why I believe in their potential inclusion here.

I'm happy to go on the record and confirm that Ryce's post reflects my position exactly too.
This is my tweet, and look - I've been quite active in this and both the previous locked threads giving really in depth responses detailing my exact reasoning and thinking behind not buying this rumour, and I've happily engaged in similar debates on twitter as well - so it's not all snark. It's difficult to swallow the temptation to snark when you try to offer up some line of thinking and try to explain how you came to that position while balancing it out by explaining it's only single sourced, while protecting sources... and get told to fuck off, die, etc etc. ERA has been fabulous about it in responding to my posts, btw, but that doesn't stop idiots lurking the thread then taking to social media to fire off some abuse, or the stupidity encountered on twitter. So, aye, I bit a bit. In the end, I woke up this morning, scrolled through twitter and saw this insane 'Isaac was pushed from the September direct because of the Earthquake" conspiracy complete with photoshop diagrams and I was just like "Man... christ alive".
I caveat as always, as I'm sure most do, by saying that it's so easy to be mislead and misinformed, especially when you can't double or triple source something... so I really hope this is true, especially Isaac and Banjo, who'd be dreams come true for me personally. But I don't buy this leak list just yet, though it is extremely convincing. The fact that I don't buy it when it's so convincing speaks to how much I trust the sources who've said things that contradict it... but as Ryce so eloquently explained, it could well be we have incomplete info.

You got me curious and from what I could tell, it would probably be Alena with over 2600 pieces. Most other characters barely break 1000.
This is condescending as hell. The only reason insiders are so dismissive of the "leak" is because they, apparently, already know it's fake. The people who don't know (both #TeamReal and #TeamFake), are just investigating. There's just more investigating on the side of #TeamReal because there's more people on that side, and can you blame them? It's the most convincing fake Smash leak of all time (if it is indeed fake).
Would it therefore be correct to assume that Isaac and Banjo are absent from your expectations of this base roster?
