The final image on the site isn't in layers, it's a bunch of images side by side.
But not everyone is saying it is? More people are acting like the former than the latter. His post comes across like we've lost our mind for believing in anything that points to Isaac and this whole thread thinks he's 100% in. Which isn't true at all.
Alright I agree in regards to the earthquake but that's not the only point being discussed about Isaac. We can ignore that and still discuss the other things that support the character without being condescending.

Recreated by adding two of the image files together. it probably just loaded weird. it also makes no sense for Isaac to be removed based on Slot Theory
I think if you've never used any modern graphics software you probably don't know about the existence of layers.

The big wide banner on the Smash site is split among multiple images, sliding repeatedly across like an image galery. I found the individual images, and images 02 and 03 do 'split' in-between Olimar & Little Mac. However, by searching for the images in the wayback machine, I just get a singular significant change corresponding to Sep. 13th, that is, the Isabelle reveal. If someone wants to further explore Wayback Machine, be my guest.
From what I can gather, the person in that leak loaded the site in a manner that the old image for Banner02 was loaded, and the newest image at the time for Banner03 was loaded, leading to the weird crop. The differences in the seam line up with the 4chan post when you connect those two images.
The 'old' images are there since like, September 10th as well, at least according to wayback, so it wasn't an immediate or reactive change.

Which seems to line up pretty well with the 4chan post.
It's a *massive* coincidence (and not in the sense that it 'proves' anything), particularly since I don't know how you could be extremely unlucky to load one old image and then one new one and then have it line up one month later with the Isaac thing that was apparently speculated (still ??? at that) to be in the same direct, but it's looking like nothing more than a coincidence.
Yeah, the Inceneroar people confuse me. Mach Rider is wayyyy more interesting. I love it when more throwback characters make it in.

Well the leak itself is likely real, it's just this newest revelation is a coincidence.
see, this newest development was easily explained away. we haven't been able to do that with the grinch leak after five days straight of nonstop pouring over it. makes you think.

Yes but the source will be 70+ different layers on top of each other, they add a new layer for Isabelle move her around as well as a few other layers to make it presentable and then convert it all into one image.
That image is then broken up into smaller sections too make it quicker to load and one person happened to log onto a site at the exact time it was updating, getting an old image on one side and a new image on the other, resulting in the weird crop.
The rest of the seams are just because when you start messing around constructing images together via html or anything like that, you're going to have those seams appear because it's not pixel perfect like a whole complete image would be.
But coincidences. Don't think about them too hard. It's just coincidences.
"slight background misalignments" is a generous way to say "half a missing waterfall, less light detail in the clouds, missing crystals and more".

That misunderstands the argument. The source image by the artist has every character in a different layer, but the people who build the website don't. The website image is separated into many "panels" which scroll across the page, and it looks like when the website is updated only the panels that have changed art get updated, rather than all of them.
The cropping error is consistent with a hypothetical scenario where Isaac was added to the banner, and then removed later, and the person who manages the website removed Isaac by mistakenly reverting that panel rather than replacing it with the proper one.
One of Isaac's signature moves is Earthquake, apparently. One of the Nintendo Directs (the one that revealed Isabelle, IIRC) was delayed due to an earthquake in Japan. Some speculate Isaac was meant to be shown off in that direct, but his trailer had earthquake imagery that would have been in bad taste given what had just happened, so they put off revealing him.
Anything that has been mentioned in the last 24 hours has no bearing on the leak for or against.

FACT: The seam isn't there because a character was removed, it simply how the website works. The banner is split into sections and that's where two sections meet. It was either a case of one section not being uploaded correctly with the rest or someone's cache causing the site to not load properly.
FACT: The direct wasn't delayed because of Isaac. It was tasteless to suggest that back then and it's tasteless to suggest that now.
FACT: Two leaf sprouts are common as muck in games (now if it was three leafed I'd be impressed). Heck there's already another item using the two leaf sprout imagery, that's how common it is. Nothing suggests it's to do with Golden Sun. It could be related to a magnitude of properties.
FACT: Loads of Nintendo properties had their trademarks renewed this year. Where's the support for Ashley from Another Code huh? That was one of the other games renewed.

There is no way to be certain of "FACT" #2. On #3, the sprout symbol isn't common at all, it's only on one other item. They could've just reused the image for the GS item since it and the growth symbol are so similar. #4, Mach Rider, GS, Rhythm Haven and Banjo? Say it isn't proof all you want, but to suggest that it definitely means nothing? Come on.
