If professionals care so much, they can just not leak information about their jobs to people in the press. I certainly wouldn't. There's legitimate reasons to dislike Vergeben, but I don't see the need for so much toxicity because he dared speak.
What's great is that Isabelle actually broke at least one leak that's happened after her announcement. Meanwhile, I'm confused that anyone thought she wouldn't be in at all.

Smash Bros is like the Olympics of fake leaks. So yeah I can believe that, but some of the stuff might be simpler than it sounds, especially if some of the people pointing out the 'leaker' were in on it. We already saw that with the Prima games leak.
I still have my old mindset about this being not an impossible leak. Sure, it's not. But defo not easy. Requires an amazing effort, and we have to remember that it hasn't been deconfirmed yet. Leaks always mess something up so they get deconfirmed. But nope, nothing here. Simply remarkable.

I'd imagine there are some serious conversations going on at ACP in light of this blowup. They may eventually speak up after internal investigations are finished like with ESRB.

This is a very well informed faker. He played every game that those characters are in. Details are just well thought. Even I, a huge fan of Golden Sun series forgot about Growth psyenergy. Similar situation with chrous kids, every mockup for Smash 4 omitted the conductor as a whole let alone his red tie. He must be really big fan of Nintendo games to notice such small details.

As a graphic designer I can tell you Nintendo will have an easier time shifting Squirtle than the leaker.
The illustration of Squirtle itself will likely be on a seperate layer in Photoshop like all other characters, allowing the artists to move them about at will.
The only way the leaker would be able to do it is by cutting Squirtle and every other character out, which is REALLY not worth it if his end result is to show a blurry low res image, or he had the illustration layer assets the team at Nintendo are using, meaning he'd be legit.
And yeah, there still would be a reason to simplify the background despite how crowded it is. Maybe the lighting or tone of the sky clashed with the character or blended too well with them not allowing them to pop like the rest. The characters are the main draw, and the simpler the background the less chance there is for them to be effected by its tones.

But why would they do that for characters that don't even need it, like Squirtle here:
Nothing was gained by moving Squirtle. It doesn't add any space for other characters or anything, it would just make extra work for the leaker since now he has to add a bit more detail to Ivysaur who was previously partially hidden.
As far as I recall, no one stepped up to claim they made the Palutena leak either. There's a lot of leaks that have gone "unclaimed".
If identity theft or jeopardizing an entire company's integrity wasn't something this rumor ended up committing, I'm sure someone would've come out to claim it as their own.

Chorus Kids were my one (and only; I didn't cheat like most people seemed to do) vote for the Smash Ballot, so it has to be them! With Inkling close behind. And even though I've yet to play Golden Sun, I already know I'd end up liking Isaac a lot in Smash, too.

Isaac because some insiders have said some of the Grinch rumor is correct. Also Sakurai might've teased him. He was cut from Smash 4 and he's popular.
I had a 5th character, but I can't decided if there's 3 characters right from this Grinch rumor or only 2 characters.
