You misunderstood. Nintendo has the source files, thus it makes sense that weird trivial changes like this would be present. It doesn't make sense that these changes would be in a fake image.

I don't get how the guy pointing out the squirtle discrepancy, who's moving around all their own personally cut out layers, can be shown as proof that nobody would be mad enough to cut out their own character layers and move them around.

I think it's a matter of doing all of that, and impersonating someone, and implicating two companies, and using real material for an upcoming, unrelated movie, and all for something that'll be proven fake in a few weeks, if not during the time you're creating it.
We have to take everything seriously like when someone beats children in Smash, they deserve the cops to be called on them.

Some people just want to get their kicks. The fact that people keep saying shit like "we'll be talking about this leak for years to come" is proof that the person who posted this likely sees it as worth the effort.
