I agree with that part.I have a hard time not seeing Shadow In. He's like the easiest echo ever, in the same vein of Ken.

I never said it did. I just find it odd the box made a spot for Ken, but not Shadow. If the final roster goes down Ken may be the only Echo left and it would make sense for him to have his spot on the box. All the remaining characters would be new and fill in after Isabelle and probably to the back of the box.I don't think the box design is set in store or indicative of the final roster.
Mystic and Ryce have both said this Grinch rumor is partially correct in the end. Sounds like 2 MAYBE 3 characters from it are real.
I know I mean the current panorama doesn't reflect Ryu's signature move so we wouldn't necessarily expect Ken's to either. But I might be missing a reference to something with that kick.As the SFII series went on, they made Ken's specials more focused on the Shoryuken and Ryu's more focused around the Hadouken.
Yeah that's what I mean. Why bother making it if there's no reason to?
clearly a month of photoshop... and getting hands on specific grinch marketing material... and posing as a employee for a marketing firm...If this whole thing if fake then how did this whole leak even happen in terms of creating it and whatnot?

Ryce said he saw what he saw months ago. I would've guessed if Shadow was real he'd have a spot open too.
all while seriously hoping there wasn't a direct lolclearly a month of photoshop... and getting hands on specific grinch marketing material... and posing as a employee for a marketing firm...
Sure, but we're also not hearing from Ryce in a vacuum. Lots of different insiders or "insiders" are speaking up about this and their reactions to the Grinch leak definitely vary. It's clear that everyone believes Incineroar is in, and yet unclear if that omission is the only thing making people doubt the leak or not. Some think it's completely false, or give the impression it's false other than Ken. Some think there's some accuracy to it. Or there's also people claiming they've heard Banjo is in regardless of the leak. There's also some people who seem to have reliably heard about some other character or characters that the leak doesn't show.He said he warned us for the upcoming few weeks. Dude sounds confident as hell in what he saw.
Ken is a semi-clone so he gets his own trailer which bookends a direct with Incineroar on the other end.
*Direct complete / roster concluded
That's why I didn't say 100%
It is used in the background of the wristband/lighting fixture, behind the Smash logo, but that also didn't need to be there
I guess it added an air of authenticity? It was one of the main "it's real" argument points until the E3 artwork was discovered, then it became the closest thing to a smoking gun
I have a hard time not seeing Shadow In. He's like the easiest echo ever, in the same vein of Ken.
Because the characters are listed off in sets of 9 on both sides of the box. When you get to Ryu's row we only account for 8 characters on the side of the box we can't see before we continue the count on the side we can see, which means there's a character slot open in that Ryu line.Whose to say the box has a spot for Ken?
Maybe it's the Smash Bros logo like on the back of the Switch bundle
Or we could just wait for official info and not risk people's jobsCan all the insiders not just band together, make a new account and post what they know so nobody knows from who it came in the first place? At some point all you people would talk to each other and compare your sources right? That would certainly make the conversation less this side, that side.

The only possible characters there that could have an Echo are Ryu, Cloud or Pacman.

Why know everything and not be able to post about it under some alias? What's the point?
Other than Shadow and Ken, are there any other Echo characters that are rumored or we've discussed as a high potential of getting in?
I really hope the Direct is next week. I'm kind of going insane here.

honestly, i feel the fact the leak has background differences is probably a lean into why this might be real. there has been a couple noted background differences from e3 to now and it makes sense to edit to better help the characters not get lost in the background.I guess. I'm acting like it's impossible the guy just made a mistake.
Seven all new pieces of artwork, jeopardizing a career, implicating two companies in its scheme, and... he never looked up if there was a blank background.
I mean, would the insiders be in trouble if they just say who the characters are? We don't know who their friends are so I don't think they would be in trouble.
Or we could just wait for official info and not risk people's jobs

What I'm saying is no one is going to risk anything just to make hyped people on a forum happyBut why would it risk people their jobs? You mean to say that they intentionally plant duds to uncover the leakers this way?
I'm still fairly confident it'll be on November 1st
IIRC the only other arguments for a November 5th-or-later Direct are from LeakyPanda
- November 3rd is the big, heavily advertised (in Japan) Smash event in Tokyo, which I assume will use a close-to-final build
- The Luigi's Mansion anniversary thing should have been on the 8th, sure, but that entire week could be packed with Direct info
- It's a Thursday, and November 1st is a nice date
- The longer they wait, the more likely things will leak
Turns out he's in, but is a Bowser echoThe thing that bugs me about Incineroar is that what I would imagine his playstyle to be would be very reminiscent of what Bowser plays like. Bowser already has a lot of wrestling style based moves in his set, and he breaths fire, and can claw people too.
The idea of Incineroar just doesn't scream unique to me is all.
Nintendo could know who there friends are.I mean, would the insiders be in trouble if they just say who the characters are? We don't know who their friends are so I don't think they would be in trouble.

One simple explanation could be that SEGA said no to Shadow being an echo of Sonic because they felt it wouldn't be a good enough representation of their character, and Sakurai didn't feel like he deserved to be a unique character.

that being said, the only real way to say one way or the other is for a direct to come out and prove it one way or the other.
Or the Smash logo
On the Switch box, the Smash logo takes up one of the character "slots" on the back of the box.
But why would it risk people their jobs? You mean to say that they intentionally plant duds to pinpoint the exact leakers this way?
Actually I think Palutena is in that row and could have Medusa as an Echo.Because the characters are listed off in sets of 9 on both sides of the box. Cause it would reveal their only source in squareI mean, would the insiders be in trouble if they just say who the characters are? We don't know who their friends are so I don't think they would be in trouble.
tbf I think it did take like a whole day and thousands of internet people sleuthing to come up with the background. I guess the weird thing is that to me it looks like the artist did actually get a few things right, so it looks like they could have had the clear background and didn't think they'd need to be that meticulous. Or they didn't have it and got lucky in some areas/generally have a good idea of how to photoshop stuffI guess. I'm acting like it's impossible the guy just made a mistake.

A graphic designer had too much time on his handsIf this whole thing if fake then how did this whole leak even happen in terms of creating it and whatnot?
