Someone who wants the scapegoat to be identified and tracked down to a printing company to give their hoax credibility.

I still refuse to believe someone was clever enough to create a fake Grinch render and had it barely show up in the picture to masterfully trick the internet to find this dude's company. Shouldn't the name have been enough?

Or do you believe this person also worked at this printing company, created this fake Smash artwork, and then used one of his coworkers as a scapegoat?

I find it interesting that the original 4chan leaker mentioned Crazy Hand and Spirit Hand as a boss but not Master Hand.

"Fuck" is not a bad world in the Smash community. I mean, if you use google translator to translate the official japanese website you'll get:

Bype2Rd.jpg
I mean, Smash community terminology is just weird in general. People call moves things like "Sex Kick" without even blinking.

Discord, got it. If that's the case then I'm even more a believer since that's just a small group of people too. Dude took what he thought was a harmless snap chat. The recipient put it in their discord group. Someone from the discord group posted it to 4chan.

This thing snowballed out of control.

Has anyone seen or done any mock ups of what the character poses are supposed to look like?

My imagination really can't compensate for the image quality. I find many of the poses to be incomprehensible, although I can clearly determine the shapes themselves to be the characters in question.

Admittedly I think someone claimed they were able to trace it back to Discord but I'm not sure how true that is in the grander scheme

I'm actually surprised some other fake leaker hasn't tried to do that that with the blurry images in the banner leak.

Someone attempted to do it for the Chorus Kids but they had one of them hold a Hot Dog when it was actually supposed to be the composer's tie.

I've been thinking about this, too. It's pretty obvious Ken is supposed to be doing a Shoryuken but like, the positioning and apparent facing of some of the characters just seems really off, not to mention the way that some characters were moved around to make room for them.

Assuming this is fake,
If this really is a case of identity theft, then there's enough "convenient" stuff in the images posted to spell out that they wanted people to look into this. Logically, the leaker would have to work backwards if this were the case - find a printing company with ties to either Nintendo or Bandai Namco, find a name that works at their place, construct the leak based on that, conveniently "censor" the name in a shitty way that can be identified within minutes. Leaks are usually a lot less transparent than that. Despite the fact that this would be a decent amount of work, it's not impossible. Smash fan base are full of absolute crazies. If we're to take the guy at his word, NintendoActu contacted his job where the person in question denied knowing anything about this.

If this is just a case of a person working at the company, then it's likely they just made a fake leak with some unique materials and fucked up.

the thing about it being a hoax is that the faker would have had to record the snapchat, take the screenshots 11 seconds later (you can see an "11s ago" pretty clearly, though admittedly I have no idea how Snapchat works), then walk away from their workspace, get onto a computer with MS Paint either there and then or after work, USB connect their phone to the computer/access cloud storage, transfer over the images, shoddily censor in MS Paint, splice all the newcomers together (from a part of the video that was presumably a panning shot) then upload it to wherever it ended up (I assume 4chan edit: discord, which is a lot smaller)

at least if it were a friend at home that process would be a lot quicker and they could be right next to a computer, but if this truly was a vindictive act then I guess someone could go to that length. They're basically a bond villain, though.
I didn't even notice the 11 seconds ago thing
That's a strike for me that whoever recorded it, took the screenshots themselves.
The time stamp on snapchat goes from when it was first posted.
Seems very weird to me somebody would see a story that was literally just posted seconds prior and then start screenshotting immediately. How would they know to screenshot without watching it first?
I'm convinced the person who recorded the video is the same person who took the screenshot

Also why does it need to be edited in MS paint? You can edit images on your phone very easily

Also I've said from the beginning it is someone that also works at that firm

Isn't this even more improbably if the 50-year old guy is completely uninvolved? It makes more sense if he was and he's just lying.

I absolutely can't see a complete nobody doing that much research for a fake, it has to be either the person who the Linkdn belongs to or someone very close to them.

I too find it odd that nobody's able to say where the picture originated from. Was it 4chan? I've never seen the original thread or the link to it. I mean, it has to have an origin of course, but I'd love to read through it and the OP.

I just realized that 4chan poster from September 28 said "fuck Nintendo" at the end of their post. This has to be the same person.

On the topic of NintendoActu didn't they find out he wasn't working there pretty early when the leak was getting traction? Depending on how they were able to find out wouldn't this mastermind find out this guy is not working at Marina?

Like the new info that the Marina Facebook post told us was that he was no longer working there since 2016

it is funny to me that a lot of the people adamant that this roster can't be right because of Incineroar also made the same exact posts about how chrom and Chorus Kids would be in Smash For at the old place

Nintendo hasn't used any copyright strikes on youtube videos containing images of the leak. Usually that's a good indicator for legitimacy

I can't belueve people are still trying to do the ridiculous mental gymnastics required to be on Team Real. ITS FAKE PEOPLE! Just because you want more than Ken and Incineroar, doesn't mean we're getting more than Ken and Incineroar.

None of that matters to me. The Grinch roster has practically nothing in common with the roster that I was shown a few months ago by someone I consider very trustworthy, and that's why I'm calling bullshit on it. You're free to believe what you want, but please remember in a few weeks that some of us tried to warn you.
