Isn't Cavill only training right now? It wouldn't be hard for him to fly out for a few days and film a small cameo. Not saying it's true but it's not impossible..

Maybe the delay is due to WB wanting time to react to the reception of Aquaman and Shazam.
If they do well they'll continue the universe. If they bomb, Wonder Woman will become the "reboot". Its a good place to, considering it taking place in the 80s and all.

Are you implying they would change the WW movie based on the reception of the other two? I don't see that happening. WW is probably almost done filming at this point.
No it's just for the better release date. There's no conspiracy. It's all a scheduling thing. WW84 will do better. It won't knock off Joker's legs if that ends up doing well. Delaying Six Billion Dollar man worked out well for the DC stuff.

Someone in one of the Witcher threads said he doesn't have a beard in the books and that they would probably be following that and not the video game look.
If anything's waiting for the reception to Aquaman and Shazam, it's Flash.
WW84 is already filming. You can't change course on that without getting more expensive in terms of production.

It sucks. Granted, it's still not nearly as bad as the ridiculous near-3 year wait between Man of Steel and BVS, but yeah, they need to get a more regular release schedule going.
At least the wait for Shazam after Aquaman is only 4 months.
I've speculated about this before but it's been rumoured for months and moooonths that JJ Abrams' Bad Robot, whose Paramount deal ends next summer, will join Warner Bros is a wide ranging, exclusive film & TV deal.
What if this apparent Superman gossip could be the news that Bad Robot is indeed joining WB and one of the properties that they'll be given to produce at the studio will be this new incarnation of Superman? What if Abrams fancies directing this new Superman film himself? It's worth remembering that Abrams wrote the script for McG's aborted Superman film so he has had previous dealings with the character.
Even if this isn't the case there is no doubt in my mind that Warners are currently looking for another 'name director' to direct this new incarnation of Superman with a new Lois and a new Clark. The question then becomes how long do we have to wait before we hear something and how long are WB prepared to wait for a new Superman film to be released?

Abrams would be about as good a get for Superman as possible for WB.
Looking it up, I'm a little disappointed the new WW steelbook wasn't the original steelbook.

Why do WB have this skeptical attitude towards superman, like always? I mean I read about Cavill payrise request issues & everything but why can't they get a project running about DC's most popular superhero? Its like imagining Marvel having the full spidey rights with them but not making a movie, its absurd.
Fear of tarnishing the brand. They don't want to bungle him into irrelevancy.
Now I love Supes but Bats is king at DC. One could argue WW and Flash have surpassed him as well.
And the reasons are 1. Negotiations with Cavill broke down and he was basically the only one really pushing for another solo Supes film, 2. Snyder's vision flopped but so did Singer's, so they're not sure what people want from Supes, and finally 3. They've never understood the character and so don't know what to do with him. It sucks but Reign of the Supermen looks pretty damn good, so I'm excited for that at least.
It depends on where you're talking. Johns said in an interview once that they've got data showing Superman is absolutely more popular than Batman in certain territories abroad and even some parts of the US.
The problem for Superman is that Batman tends to be more popular in places where people spend more money. That's only going to become more of an issue for Big Blue as WB digs deeper into their catalog of DC characters while no big Superman project lands to keep the character's relevant. WW* and Flash aren't there yet, but they could be if their movies come out and are hits. Hell, even Aquaman has a chance with his movie coming soon.
*And if WB/DC actually makes some fucking Wonder Woman merchandise. It's crazy that we're a year out from the first movie and there's been so little announced for the character beyond an animated flick for next year, a prose novel, and WW84.
I don't know what else they can do besides more comic books. She basically leads the Super Hero Girls initiative. The only reason they doing a Harley Quinn show is they're want that R&M crowd. Plus she's going to be th lead in that Super Hero Girls tv show that's coming from Lauren Faust.

One of the three DC games WB is working on is hopefully Wonder Woman. But I'm doubtful. At the very least a JL game where WW is the focus would be nice.
People mistakenly think his power set is more interesting than his personality, so they start tinkering with him in fucked up ways.
