That's a thing everywhere on the internet, unfortunately. People judge others based on their choice of avatar. Not even exclusively an anime thing either, if you walk into a Nintendo-thread with a Playstation avatar (or vice versa) some people might take you less seriously. It's really dumb and messed up but that's just how some (a minority of) people are
Is it not the E3 demo? There was footage of a match with Yoshi and Duck Hunt and on stages not in the demo (Mute City SNES and Rainbow Cruise).
They've had this tour for weeks now, so definitely not. It's all marketing.

I'm legitimately curious how much they've tried to kept every aspect about the game limited to NoJ's ranks. They likely tailor made some of these clips themselves.

That is true. With that said NotLiquid has been pushing another discrepancy about that blank Battefield picture so if you guys want to do another update video on the leak (which I don't blame you guys for not wanting to do unless something more tangible pops up).
Also sorry for the harassment you guys got for challenging the leak. That sucks and no one should should have that happen to them. Let's just hope that even if the leak is fake we can get something better than just Incineroar and Ken

Also it might just be me but Rosalina's dash attack seems to have had it's active frames lowered. It looks like Toon Link's recovery animation stops once the dash attack is thrown out. That would be a pretty notable nerf.

I don't mind being back to regular ol' Smash discussion. Especially now that Nintendo is putting out more minor footage that we can comb over
It's not just GAF/Era, it's a thing in a lot of larger twitter spaces, especially in more progressive ones.
The thing is, it was originally supposed to refer to little moe girl anime avatars, which are usually adopted by people online with uh, pretty questionable views. Just like the Pepe shit. You would usually see these guys popping in social media threads saying the most vile shit, which is where the stereotype comes from.
But yeah now it's spiraled out of control to the point where people are ready to go off on anyone with a character even vaguely reminiscent of the style, which is stupid. Kind of like how the word anime has lost all meaning on this board.
To elaborate on this a little. If I recall, some women who were harassed during Gamergate noted that people with anime girl avatars were extremely common on the messages they were being bombarded with. Probably because 4chan has such a large anime community and the two were tied together; Gamergate's mascots are styled like cute anime girls. So I think that's part of why some people are especially hostile to people with anime avatars.
Of course, liking anime is hardly exclusive to any online group, and there is certainly no shortage women who like anime, so I don't think it makes sense to treat it as a red flag.
