If this is fake, the amount of effort that must have gone into it seems bonkers. Unless the leaker really did get his hands on some leaked material (for example the empty background) and decided to have some fun with the rest.
I don't think calling a workplace is really that uncaring ? Like it's not someone from this thread that did it but a proper news site. That's just investigating the case.
You can't argue that people should provide evidence and then follow it up by posting images/saying things that basically amount to "the evidence provided just proves people are craaaazy"
Most of the stuff in the OP was done for a laugh and then it turned out there were actual, real connections. It wasn't people losing sleep because they want their beloved Geno to pop up. Hell, I don't care about pretty much any of the characters in the "leak", I just had fun researching it

It's silly to me too, but I see it all the time. Every year with every Pokémon game I see it and I see it every generation with every Smash Bros. game

Well the Vergeben rumor extends to "Minecraft content" and "Square-Enix rep" as well, lol. Another leaker that has gotten some stuff right about the new Samurai Showdown game also claims Steve is playable in Smash Bros.
None of this contradicts this alleged leak however cause nobody is claiming that's the final roster or anything of that sort.
If Incineroar isn't in the game, it's less work for you, though!

Yup. The biggest problem is the "smoking gun" can only be seen by a single side of the argument and that is always going to frustrate people.
That's fine then. I prefer to be neutral and look at it from both sides. I want it to be real obviously but I'm not invested. Currently there's more evidence for it being real which is unique in bigger leaks; they usually crumble fast. It's fine if nothing without proof interests you but there's no need to come into this thread and telling people "how things are like" then.
No one but enthusiasts and friends of enthusiasts know or care about this leak. And we're in for the long haul regardless.

There's no way this could be proven real until an official announcement. In the meantime, there are a plethora of ways in which it could be proven fake, which is why the concentration has been on that. We won't know for certain what's real (without proving what's fake) until an official announcement.
I don't care a thing about Smash, so this has been an amusing ride. I voted Real, simply because Isaac and Geno would get me to purchase the game as a JRPG fan, but I can absolutely see the frustration with self-important "insiders" coyly and condescendingly mocking people while providing no reasoning.

Just lock, say it's fake, and call us all crazy mother fuckers and be done with it. This "rumor" has gotten so crazy we're contacting French printing companies to find any thing that can properly deconfirm the leak.

tbf, one can have zero expectations about a new Pokemon game and still be disappointed.

Also, having worked in the gaming industry, while being a gamer myself, I tend to trust in publishers/devs and let them do their thing - so give time to time and wait for reveals.
I suppose. At the end of the day if this is fake then the worst that happens is I wear a Haruka Amami avatar for a month. I can't imagine feeling actual, physical disappointment beyond "it would have been cool to have these characters in."

I feel like the conclusion to this whole thing is going to be someone getting fed up and leaking the insider proof to 4chan

Just to clarify I don't think anyone on Era contacted the company lol, this leak is being discussed on many forums and ofc Twitter. Pretty sure more extreme/insnae fans outside of Era are doing that kind of stuff
