RUMOR: Massive Smash Ultimate leak is allegedly an emotional roller coaster [UPDATES IN OP]

Until one of the insiders are willing to post something definitive and not wishy washy stuff, I'd be wary. There's a million reasons I could see this being fake, but this vague "I know something but can't definitively say it's fake because maybe it's real too" doesn't really impress me.
I don't know if he has direct sources, but as of last night (see this post) he definitely seemed to know why people are objecting to the leak. And I don't think he'd come down so hard on one side or the other if he didn't think it was reputable.

Also Liam's been right about plenty of other things. He obviously got Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe wrong, but he's had a good track record. Given how these insiders (the ones that are legit) get their information, it's not uncommon they might get some incorrect information sometimes.
I mean as an example, remember Laura Kate Dale? She's gotten stuff wrong, but also got plenty of things right. One of the things she got exactly right?
NOBODY believed her when she said there was a Mario and Rabbids crossover that would be called Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and it would play like X-COM and characters could jump off each other. And then E3 2017 came and the game was revealed to be exactly that.

I really don't know how or why, but I have completely fallen out of favor with Pokémon as of recently. I loved Sun and Moon..... but man that 1-2 punch of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and Lets Go just really grinds my gears. And it doesn't help that Incineroar is pretty much the worst and laziest pokemon design in Alola.
Hey, it wasn't disappointing to me because of Smash - but let's not act like people didn't expect a lot more first party games than we got.
Not to mention when Daemon x Machina popped up, he said "yeah, this is the direct I saw." He could've easily been destroyed if they showed Prime 4, Bayo 3, Kid Icarus, Retro etc after that.

Yeah, Liam has a shitty attitude sometimes but the guy has had info, even if it can end up being lost in translation.
LKD was the first to mention it I believe, but Liam had an actual image leak from it that no one noticed.

This if they're going to indeintify this perpetrator which is not a given. Even then, he just used his first name on a screnshot and let the circumstances do the rest so the sentencing might not be that severe.
Then again such elaborated fakes are usually revealed by the author themselves because they want the notoriety for pulling off such believable craft, and committing a felony in the process prevents such person to do so so I dunno if the effort was worth it as they will need to stay anonymous.
If he denied it he would get in even more legal trouble. I don't think it's the person who works there. All signs point to the leaker impersonating the actual employee who works there.

Here's the thing: Mario + Rabbids was literally public knowledge for anyone that had even the slightest connection to Ubisoft. If even I heard about this then you can be sure that every youtuber or person used to dig into gaming heard about it. It's not incredible insider knowledge.
So what you're telling me is Liam's sources were crap. That hardly proves your point
Have we uh given any thought to the possibility that whoever leaked this took the picture on top of a document that had their coworker's name on it? And that they didn't actually leak their own name?

Just for slight clarification the GX stance is that the picture isn't conclusive on it's own and you guys might have info on a potential missing character from the leak that leads more to why you guys think it's fake right?

You guys are being a little too harsh I think lol. Yes Liam can come off as an ass to people. I think he's done better with his leaks though.
I did, I don't trust anything Liam says because he historically makes assumptions and treats them as facts.

This is from snapchat, not some document, but yeah, impersenation is literally what the whole current discussion is about right now
I don't think we've said anything about missing characters
unless we see the guy himself come forward literally nothing changed except Liam also tweeted about probably seeing Incineroar
Let's be real here, the only non debunked leak is this box.

Again, this name was not printed on a piece of paper, it was on the Snapchat story video. That means whoever took the Snapchat video had the guys name as his user name.
It's not a wristband, it's a small banner you hang from the ceiling. Look how big that thing is, you think that thing is fitting on anyone's wrist unless you wrap it around several times?
All true but police and law enforcement can find out one way or another. They don't need his name because they can just trace everything back to the actual source and contact Snapchat and other parties if necessary. If what that tweet said is true, the actual leaker is legitimately in serious trouble. Now that the real person knows what is going on, even a little. He will take legal action. Companies that he associated this with will also take legal action, one already has. It's all downhill for this leaker. Smash and NDAs should be the least of his concerns if this is true.
Once again, there's nothing to debunk this leak apart from "insiders" claiming it's fake despite not showing even the shadow of an evidence.
