Remember when Sakurai hit Pacman in the clouds of the Greninja trailer?

Is it Kazooie?

This smells like the ESRB leak all over again. People trying to find inconsistencies over the smallest things.

I believe this is real, if it was fake 4chan would already have proved it. If this is fake, it's the best fake of all time.

So it still lives and no definitive proof against it. Well I'd be content with the roster, but unless something pops up we'll know for sure in a couple weeks when we get the blowout

Why aren't they showing up today? I want to hear their take on the guy is actually working for another company. Imran has to update his article too.
I scared them away with my take on the Grinch.
And the Insider, with his Insider-knowledge so much in the know, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so?
It came with the blonde kid! It came with the puppet! It came with the old bear and the trio of moppets.
And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Insider thought of something he hadn't before.
What if Smash, he thought, doesn't have Incineroar? What if Smash, perhaps, has Shadow, Ken and more?
And what happened then? Well...in Smashville they say, that the Insiders doubt grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his doubt wasn't sitting quite right, he wizzed to his Twitter to join in the fight!
He brought with him his doubt! And said "It's a spoof!"
And he, HE HIMSELF, the Insider could offer nothing as proof!

Can we talk about how the conductor + the red tie makes this leak seem even more legit btw? Even people trying to make fake original art don't know about the tie lmao

This dude would have to be a Rhythm Heaven FANATIC. I love the series and I didn't know about the tie!

I don't think the tie is that weird cause if you're gonna include the Conductor, you're obviously gonna look up a good image of what she looks like from the front.

Including the conductor at all though shows that the guy did his research. Now that I look it up, the Conductor is included in the Chorus Kids trophy in Smash 3DS, so there's good reason to believe Sakurai considers her part of the group.
That chorus kids art is magical. It's a big reason why I'm struggling to doubt this. And the conductor being part of the smash 4 trophy? Wow.

Okay so I took the E3 empty battlefield picture posted by Mipmap like 20 pages back and did some quick blurring and adjustments to try and get it to look a bit more like the leaked photo, to see if the inconsistencies were a matter of blurriness or they were actually definitively different.

Here's the original:

Here's my blur edited one:

Here's the one from the leak (I couldn't find one of it by itself but it's obviously the middle of these three images):

This doesn't say anything conclusive, at least to me, but I think it's an interesting comparison to look at. In mine you can still easily see the castle on the waterfall but not on the leaker's. You do lose plenty of other details though.

Food for thought.

Absolutely. I love love love Rhythm Heaven and I never even considered the conductor when imagining movesets.... yet it makes so much sense! If this is fake, this faker is brilliant

We need a list with everything AGAINST the leak right now, because seriously what concrete leads do we have AGAINST the leak besides a mural that somehow already has changed quite a bit over the time?

That post was about three or four plot twists ago. We are on to APC now.

Read the OP, mate...

You might have missed a lot of discussion about that.

You got some more reading to do

You don't seem caught up.

Meant nothing.

Guy works at a company that's basically next door and fits even more with the leak funnily enough

Oh. I wrote the response two hours ago before going to work and just got around to posting it.

These developments are hilarious.

I'm so lost.

The castle is there just next to Zelda's arm in the pic with the new characters in the leak, but wasn't there also a blank background that removed the castle and some waterfalls?
Alright, let's do a comprehensive post about this. Let's call it "why might this background have been faked?"

C9mb6i7.gif

If you want to read a more comprehensive take on all the background differences that can't be chalked up to simple "detail lost in the blur", refer to this post. But for the sake of keeping things simple, the most suspicious portion is the leftmost square where the direct feed background shows that there is supposed to be a big island there. This one's the easiest sticking point because in every mural art we've seen, that portion of the background is always covered by Bowser. By glancing on the full mural you'd notice that the waterfall has a sort of curvature. The "leaked" background completely removes the island however, and with the way the waterfall is structured, it's pretty clear that this was painted over. The easy conclusion to come from this is that it was painted by someone who had no idea how the background actually looked like when it was covered. Up until yesterday people dismissed the background itself as evidence until it turns out the background actually was available at E3. This is when most holes started popping up and for now that stands in favor of #TeamFake, as it hasn't been debunked yet.

1540456390707.jpg

This point was contingent on the notion that the background hadn't changed since E3 however, and an argument that was proposed in favor of #TeamReal by Rotobit was that visible structure near Zelda is seemingly not visible in the full E3 banner that was provided by people. This brought up the idea that the background might have changed. However, that's a tenuous supposition because

1) the topmost image that Rotobit used was from a later Nintendo Direct, and yet that same structure can still be seen in the E3 Direct. It's safe to say most materials pertaining to Smash and E3 were ostensibly the same.
2) the castle never actually went anywhere, it just looked less visible because of the image's quality and general overexposure.

A closer look at a clearer image that was taken from the Treehouse shows that those pillars are still intact in the distance; they're just less visible on account of the brightness and circumstances of a shot (video recording of a monitor).

So right now, the only leg people who believe this leak have to stand on in regards to the actual content is the question of whether the background itself changed. So far, no evidence points to that, and it doesn't make a lot of sense given how most of it is already obscured to begin with, which means changing it "so it doesn't clash" is a bit of a nonsensical argument.
