RUMOR: Massive Smash Ultimate leak is allegedly an emotional roller coaster [UPDATES IN OP]

It's definitely some solid evidence that leans in favor of team fake but I'm not totally convinced. As others have said, people have already pointed out that not only did it not make sense for Bandai Namco to do the marketing for Smash but that Illumination studios or Universal were not listed as compaies they work for. So it's still possible that this person works at a different company and the internet sleuths just got the wrong one.

This is starting to feel like a spy thriller. Next thing you know, that Eric guy will be reported missing by authorities.

After careful reading of the post it doesn't actually discredit the leak tangibly, it casts some reasonable doubts but I'm still on team real.

Remember Imran, Steve and whoever other inside yesterday kept bringing up why would Nintendo do marketing through a company that Bandai uses?? Did everyone think this guy still worked at this company? Because it appears so.

they were already contacted yesterday to see if the guy worked there. My guess is their phones are getting blown up about it and they just wanted to release an official statement before Nintendo sends their ninjas after them.

I'm sure their social media accounts were being blown up with accusations and they wanted to stop the bad PR by putting out a statement saying "we have nothing to do with this in any capacity and you guys are nuts lol stop harassing us and tarnishing our name" I mean they even refer to it as a rumor, they don't try to debunk it at all

Once I'm out of class I'll try to make a full timeline with the events we know about this leak in order to have a clearer idea.
Maybe the real story mode are the friends we made along the way.
We already knew that guy did not work there anymore and he works on a different printing company. The facts remain, it's still promo material and no one has been able to prove it wrong.
From a quick glance at their website, they don't seem to have anything in the way of referential credits from any major video game companies.
I could see them possibly making stuff for the Grinch, but I'm not seeing the correlation with Bandai Namco or Nintendo here.

what it does is deconfirm one of the strongest points the rumor had going for it. Now it is back to whether you trust a potential photoshop or not basically isn't it?
Not if they're in actual legal trouble if this is a real leak. They want to lawyer up for this if it's real and not hastily post something (especially not confirmation they were working on Ultimate, which would confirm that the leak is real and get them in even deeper trouble)
ACP PLV's work seems more similar to these materials, they work with mostly store displays, which the leak appeared to be some kind of display

We knew he didn't work there anymore, but the fact that he left 2 years ago wouldn't enable him to have access to Smash marketing material. I could maybe see that being the case in 2017, but not 2016.
