I wasn't with GX during Smash 4 so it's not really my place to comment on that
But they already did an update video stating that they think it's fake and Jonneh is willing to sit in a puddle if it turns out to be true, so they have come out against the rumour just in a smaller way.

Same here, I hope it's real for the Chorus Kids & the rage it being fake would induce, but I'm honestly not sure.
I'm the opposite, after the ESRB leak, GameXplain thinking it's fake makes it more likely to me.
Wait a second, was this reconstructed using slices of snapchat video frames? That would probably explain at least some differences, if you look at the orange waterfall on the right there is a diagonal line cutting it off, and the same angle line carries into the sky splitting two shades of blue, same angle that borders both ends of the image.Awesome, was wondering what the source was. I guess the guy who's probably getting fired will get backlash. Sakurai already told people to expect a few more characters. He's not getting backlash when he lowered expectations.
Nah the background is presented as-is. The borders are part of the full BG as it's on a piece of paper. In the leak itself it's just zoomed out and blurred a little.
