what is even more interesting is that MACH RIDER got its trademark renewed not too long ago
Honestly the lack of a Pokemon newcomer makes it more believable for me. You put that amount of effort into a elaborate hoax and you don't throw in the one character that fucking everyone expected.

That's just a coincidence, to be honest. The Mach Rider toy is a car, not a motorcycle, and it's just a repaint of a Hasbro toy that Nintendo licensed for Japan. It doesn't have anything to do with the game.
I'm really interested to see how Sakurai incorporates the Dr. Seussiverse into Smash. Will the Cat in the Hat appear as an assist trophy? Will Thing 1 and Thing 2 be revealed as dlc Ice Climbers echoes? Will the wireframe dudes from Multiman Smash be replaced with the star bellied sneetches? Will Green Eggs and Ham be added to the food? Will the game's credits just have the staff roll over the entirety of Oh the Places You'll Go narrated by the announcer? Will anyone cry while listening to it, thinking back to graduating from 5th grade and 8th grade and having your teacher read that book to the class?

I'm fairly certain they took the name from that toy for the game though. If it was a more generic name, I would buy it being completely coincidental, but "Mach Rider" is pretty specific.
Um the hype cycles already been broken and we've had a much smaller window

...because that's far and away the most likely scenario. Box theory is based on literal official material from Nintendo themselves. Vergeben trust is based on his perfect Smash track record.
This Grinch leak is based on a blurry image and lots of hope. Hell, even every insider out there who's ever been trusted is on twitter saying this new leak is a pile of bullshit.
I wish this never leaked, every one of those characters other than mach rider would have destroyed eras servers the second they would have been announced.
Plot twist: The Vifam gun was used for Ray Mk1, who in the end didn't make it after all. The knife twist is real.
Yuuuuup. It's why I pretty much retreated from the main Smash speculation thread since then. This super militant "you're all fucking idiots if you believe anything but this" attitude.

It would make sense. Mach Rider would need a bigger design change than anyone, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case
Another reason Shadow makes sense over Knuckles is because the first Sonic game on a Nintendo console was SA2: Battle, Shadow's debut game that stars him more than Sonic almost. The most important games in Knuckles overall history happened on the Genesis - S3 and S&K.
So there's no actual proof that the company's doing marketing for Smash?

I don't doubt that there's other information out in the wild that some people ("insiders") are privvy to, but is it good information? And if so, what in the world have we been discussing all day? An elaborate hoax?
Wouldn't the Ice Climbers count as "throw a dart at a board" pick, as well? I mean, it's not like their game was a hot item when it came out on the NES.
I think everyone should give up on this leak. Too many insiders are against it. Just go back to box Theory talk -.-
A lot of them are actually just kicking dirt around and not taking a firm stance.
