RUMOR: Massive Smash Ultimate leak is allegedly an emotional roller coaster [UPDATES IN OP]

I lasted a minute before perusing the page and seeing the list.
long story short there's a pattern in how the blog handles the blogposts by highlighting a certain number of characters every week and people are calculating this weekly to determinate that if the pattern keep its way there should be 6-8 characters left to announce
Yeah it does seem like that, but the actual leak itself.... how is it faked? Like it all lines up so perfectly

The leak is supposedly on a promotional paper wristband. OK lets go with that for a moment. It's safe to assume these wristbands are to be actually used for a public event. What events are there between now and Dec 7? Actually for this to be real it would have to be between the Direct that reveals all these characters and Dec 7. So we still have all of November and a tiny bit of October and December. The only major event left according to Nintendos official website (https://smashbros.nintendo.com/events/) are:
1. Wendys college tailgate tour - ongoing right now with E3 build
2. Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo - done, E3 build
3. TBS Event Smash Invitational to be aired in November....could this be the event where these wristbands would be used?

Invitational 2018 will be a three-part series airing footage of the E3 2018 Smash Invitational, starting on November 16. While there is no new tournament being held, ELEAGUE will air previously-unseen footage from E3's tournament exclusively on TBS."
OK so if these were indeed wristbands commissioned by Bamco and Bamco went out of their way to provide this company with the final banner not an existing banner, they would need to be used when exactly? The Nintendo site says 'more events' so are we to believe there will be another event that isn't announced that takes place between final reveal and release date and THAT is when these arm bands would be used? Seems incredibly unlikely to me. Are they for midnight launches? MAAAAYYYBEEE, but I think thats a stretch. Paper wristbands are almost always used in some sort of admission scenario.

could be an event for the press to preview the game. They do those for directs some times IIRC
I wouldn't call this a leak. It's a rumor. For all we know they did this as a fun project and saw the 4chan character list.

It's clearly not a wristband. It's a mockup for a circular cardboard store display designed to placed on top of a high center display or hang from a ceiling.
Who says the wristbands would be for a pre-launch event? Plenty of stores still do midnight releases.
It goes beyond fun project on the side when it implicates an entire marketing firm and a specific employee.
Honestly I don't know what to think. I don't find Shadow or Banjo-Kazooie credible.
There could be some chances for Banjo, considering the weird decisions Microsoft usually takes, like releasing their games also on PC, or releasing Minecraft even on digital clocks, I feel more neutral with this.
But Shadow does not make any sense, it would be just a Sonic clone, and it's not a popular or relevant character like Sonic, Pacman or Megaman. I would say he's just popular for those whose SA2 was their first Sonic game, outside of that game it's just meh. I just don't get it. If it's real, then it's a weird decision.
Meanwhile, other characters seem to fit, and are credible, they make sense.

The left picture is. The picture with the characters is definitely some kind of wristband.
So basically, this banner would have to appear on the wild a month before release to give them time to reveal the last remaining characters.
Now, lets go back to the grinch thing. it is there on the leak and they are working at the same time as the smash banner. when does that grinch movie comes out? google tells me: November 8, 2018. But smash comes out on december? why is it there along that grinch stuff which will release a month before smash? maybe the banner itself will appear on the wild a month early as well?

It also wasn't revealed in a way that would make it seem like it's supposed to be a fun project, or even that it's supposed to be a leak. It was incidental.
If it's a fake the person who made and leaked it is The Riddler.
How does that stop them from holding events after the game launches?
They're not going to reveal the characters through the wristband.

I suppose so. But the company, the employee being legit, having to rearrange the entire newcomer poster and draw a blank version of it, come up with entirely new poses/renders for the seven characters - this would be a legendary fake.
I'm happy with the game's roster regardless, and if the leak is fake at least it made me excited to speculate again but still.... it hasn't added up so perfectly like this in a while
Fake or not this dude is losing his job too. Hes not trustworthy.
I wished the insiders here would discuss the marketing part. I don't see what's fun in using real companies to do a fake and probably screwing your career or someone else's career.
Smash Bros is THE game series known for legendary fakes. Rayman fooled a bunch of people.
But yeah, it's leaning true. But I won't believe until I see it.
