If Chorus Kids is it do you think all of his moves will be based around timing ala DK's Previous Final Smash
This is where I'm at, the insiders are all using second hand info from nameless sources that can be very accurate to dubious at best. This leak actually has pics and very detailed info.
God damn, I'm torn. It'd be really easy to say "yeah, it's fake" and move on with my life, but something in the way this all has gone down has me believing in my gut that it's real.
And I honestly, truly think most of the supposed insiders don't really know. That's why we're not getting any definitive answers.

I hope sakurai takes the next five years off, preferably surrounded by his nearest and dearest. Hopping from fancy island resort to fancy island resort, and as word gets out that this man is responsible for Super Smash Bros, all him & his families meals & drinks are free. Anything except the utmost care & attention paid to this man during this time is completely unnaceptable.
And then once the island lifestyle of rest & relaxation has finally work thin, then I want him to come back & reboot Mach Rider. And only if it's announced when it's basically already finished so that he never has to stress to hit a deadline again!
I really do hope we get a Direct announcement soon though, feels like there's still so much to still know about the game and yet it releases in about a month.
Chorus Kids were supposed to be in Smash 4 but got cut. They're the most believable part of the leak outside of Ken and Shadow lol
At this point, these leakers need to stop messing around and say what they know. LOL guy has picture proof, you dont so stop being mysterious
Edited my post to clarify: I think characters that insiders are expecting to be here (new Pokemon rep, new SE rep) have been pushed back to DLC

Is it? They were supposedly cut from Smash 4, so I don't find it too far-fetched that they may have found their way into this game
You guys are right, I wasn't even thinking about the quick dev turnaround of a clone vs. a unique moveset. I lost sight of the fact that we're at 60 characters and expecting unique movesets at this point is wishful thinking (for characters that can be easily cloned).
The "sweet goodness man, why would you go these lengths for the sake of a fake?!" factor.
I think people are missing that things shift in dev. Between this and other rumors/leaks/insiders.
Other characters thought to be a lock could now be DLC instead. I'd say the current image would make for a good final reveal. However more than that would be pushing it.
However there's also Sakurai just being Humble to consider. Dude gives us the world and still thinks it isn't enough.
Well, I'm the VG247 guy, and I'll say this outright, like -- somebody I trust who was right in the past (IE not Verge, but somebody else who told me about Simon and Isabelle before I think he'd mentioned them - though I don't follow him closely so not 100% on that) said Incineroar would be on the roster, and given they nailed Simon and Isabelle months in advance I'd feel inclined to trust their word for Incineroar - who obviously has been out there in the rumor world for ages. So that character not being on this list suggests to me the list is either wrong or incomplete, but as I also said over on Twitter - in the end, it could just as well be that I'm misinformed. That's the problem with back-room whispers and information, and why I'd never post that on the site in a news story - for something to be reported, I'd need multiple concrete sources, and I don't have them.
I quoted a poster earlier and said they were probably spot on when they said people are probably unsure on this really convincing leak because they have contradicting information from equally convincing places, because that's definitely where I stand. If I hadn't heard about Isabelle and Simon from the same person who told me about Incineroar, I'd just write the Incineroar claim off as wrong, but when somebody gets two right like that, obviously you're then inclined to trust them on the third go around.
I really hope this is true, though, it'd be cool as hell, especially Banjo - and I'd hope that'd mean Nintendo & MS were talking to potentially look at doing some Minecraft content as DLC.
Geno is in, not sure why you singled him out, he's very likely if they're willing to get Banjo
I'll put my hat into the ring and say that the other Square rep is Zack Fair. Very easy echo, he's basically an outfit change. He requires no music and stage either. Plus it lines up with the other 3rd parties with 2 unique and 1 echo (Cloud, Geno and Zack).
Bandai left in the cold though. Poor guys developing the game and they can't even get their own characters in
No insider hinted at Richter, Dark Samus, Chrom OR K.Rool from what I recall.
Because someone has clearly risked their career doing it. Regardless of if it's real, this dude's gonna have a really hard time working on ad campaigns after this.

Isaac is an odd choice, since there is nothing suggesting Camelot being capable of making a Switch-tier Golden Sun sequel. On the other hand, the franchise would bring good music, stage themes, etc. so from that perspective it makes sense.

The other 3 had popped up numerous times in the past. Richter was definitely the one that caught people for a surprise though.
I want the record to show that I very much believe this leak, but it also looks like they've added more space between Greninja and Snake, in addition to the Isaac space. It's not a crazy amount of space, and I think pointing at any extra space as evidence of a fake seems arbitrary to me.
Really? I mean I knew we ALL thought DS was in because it was so obvious but I don't remember anyone chiming in about any of them. I do remember Ridley hints though.
Vergeben in particular didn't at least, and he's the most noteable smash leaker currently
Thats exactly what Im saying, this isn't their job and they certainly arent perfect and if they are wrong thats a fine thing to call out but if you don't look at this thread and see people showing their ass when it comes to video game leaks I dunno what to tell you.
Keep in mind I think Imran and most of the leakers are probably wrong here but that doesn't mean I have to be a dick about it and it's not like he hasn't been right in the past. We probably agree on the factuals here when it comes to the game itself
Originally, Dixie was intended to be part of Diddie's move set as a tag character, like Ice Climbers but with an actual tag mechanic like in DKC. Not sure why they cut this - if it was a design problem, or tech, or just if they decided against it. But we know this as Sakurai revealed this after Brawl's release in a magazine column. The issue now is the question of if Dixie is actually relevant enough to be a whole original character, and if not if she'd really be convincing/correct as a Diddy echo, as they're clearly now not gonna change the Diddy move set they eventually went with.
I'm not sure what newcomers you think are unrealistic
Not every newcomer has to be promoting a game. There probably isn't a new Golden Sun coming anytime soon.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like there haven't really been many insiders for Smash Ultimate? Certainly not with the same credibility there was for Smash 4. I feel like most of the newcomers thus far have been complete surprises, save for Isabelle, who we only got hints towards just before the direct. And Simon was leaked by Nintendo themselves.
There really haven't been reliable insiders this go-around.
If people act mad at some insiders it's because they refuse to give any kind of reasoning why they believe what they do. I understand you have sources to protect but if you can't even indicate even 1% why you think something then it's probably best to stay quiet.
Legend is, Dixie in brawl was going to be partnered with Diddy in an Ice-climber style, but she was cut due to time constraints.
Then 3DS and Wii U had to cut transforming characters and the Iceclimbers, so it wouldn't make sense to add the Dixie elements to Diddy.
By Ultimate Diddy was established enough that it wouldnt make sense to turn him into a team character.

I think Incineroar is likely messing up a bunch of insiders who have reliable info on him being in, making this leak really strange since it lacks him.
- Detailed artwork, which is quite different and much harder than loading up Photoshop and Aftereffects and faking a leak.
- Name associated with the leak.
- That name is a confirmed individual working with a company that has been confirmed to work for Bandai Namco on promotional/advertising/marketing material.
- 4Chan rumor from a month ago called all 7 characters in this leak.
Like I said, if it's fake, you have to believe that this person working at an advertising company working for Bandai Namco decided to go through 4chan Smash leaks to find one to make detailed art for. Or you have to believe that it's the same guy, and he's been planning this leak and working this leak for over a month.
But again...there's a name here. Anyone doing this to cause an uproar and troll people wouldn't have linked their name, company, or something as irrelevant to the topic at hand as Grinch art.

There's a crapton of alleged insiders but not that many proven ones. Verg is the most popular, I think. Loz was another infamous one but I think he's dead and buried now
Remember the fake NX ? People could put lots of energy and time in those things. Personally I don't find this credible, the characters just make much sense to me.
Banjo and Geno seem like fanboys requests
Ken and Shadow seem odd, there are better candidate in the respective franchises.
