This thread is the wildest microcosm of the current political climate i've seen to date. From what i've seen you get yelled at for not only having different political views to people on here - but also for saying 'i'd rather not make it a thing if thats ok' - If anything the latter invites far more hatred and shit talking on here.
The idea that not taking a hard political stance is in itself political is a very strange opinion which gets shared on here a lot. stories don't have to have an agenda, demanding that it does and the absence of one is in itself a third agenda is weird as hell.

i don't mind since gta 5 wasn't that great of a game. rather Rockstar make more games like Bully or Max Payne 3.
I dont disagree with him about the both sides comment. Both sides are angry it doesnt mean both sides are justified but I disagree with him about the possibilities. Its a god damn gold mine right now.

People play things like GTA to have fun and be shocked by ludicrous/over the top writing. It's been the case since the top down GTA games and all the outrage about violence, running over religious people, famous and well-known figures having the piss taken out of them, jokes about politically incorrect things and so on. As GTA comes out of the UK taking the piss and being able to differentiate satire from literal has been a skill most of us learned as early teens when we were telling our overbearing parents to stop linking what is clearly not literal to heinous world events. Cue UK comedy, standup and sitcoms always arguably being better than American. Fight me over that!!
Some people end up turning into their parents though. Just because you hit your 20s or even 30s doesn't mean you need to slide to being Conservative. You can not like something without being a total control freak over it and go around implying the world is ending because South Park made some jokes at Hillary Clinton, or being "concerned" The Last of Us 2 is a horror game which will represent women as characters and NPCs and not treat them differently to the men. Some of the moral pearl-clutching around TLoU 2 blew my mind. Straight up Conservative rhetoric.
That's the thing some can't let go of, being content with their own preferences, without running to social media to shout at everyone else and play the morality police.
GTA used to primarily attract Conservative or Catholic/religious outrage, just like South Park, as the left-leaning folks, punks and even progressives knew it was just background noise (a video game or a cartoon... yeah, real pressing concerns) or not literal, not something worth faking losing your marbles over. No one has turned into a terrorist because of GTA or SP. God hasn't smited anyone yet either. Nowadays you'd probably expect the balance to be far less that way, although the Catholic voices did get their jimmies rustled by that SP paedophilia episode. As they often do.
Here we will probably reach another 25+ page topic with people talking about terrorist attacks, Nazis and so on, when the comment at worst is clearly just a provocative jibe at voices likely to say "GTA6 is soo offensive". Which some of could well be the Conservative voices, probably unhappy with Trump no doubt having the piss taken out of him in GTA. But I did say to Rockstar earlier, as much as the social media machine of outrage can be a different beast to the news stations or churches of the 90s, GTA has never backed down before, so why now?
Nothing has stopped them before. He just doesn't want to make a deciding comment on the matter for one reason or another. The games have always been controversial. Hell you had a mission in GTAV where you tortured someone. But political satire is all of a sudden hard for them? I'm not buying that shit excuse.

No you're right, that's all there is to a country of 315 million people's federal governments. Just two equal sides that don't differ at all fighting each other that don't have any influence on their country, international relations, their states or their districts.
This makes a huge difference especially for marginalized people. Also the Judicial system is most likely not changing anytime soon those judges are in for life (supreme court and circuit courts) and they are trending conservative.

You know this doesn't even make sense, its not like they've never done political commentary before. SA has multiple things taking the piss about the government and then in 4 they made the statue of liberty Hillary.
He already treated women like shit in GTAV and many leftists like myself still enjoyed the game despite no strong female characters and a ton of trans jokes.
