Maybe in talking with The Pokemon Company they decided they wanted to represent the first Switch Pokemon generation in Smash Bros, and thus they're waiting for DLC to release a generation 8 character? I could see that happening.

If they do any kind of ballot again I'm definitely voting Ray 01. Ryu Hayabusa is my most wanted newcomer at this point, but Custom Robo could really use the boost and if the rumors are too he was close to being included. He'd also just be an awesome fighter.

Maybe DLC? I could even see them drip feeding a few characters via free updates over the few months following release. I'm guessing hitting a 2018 release date has been a priority for a while, so they're probably really crunching to hit the current release date. I can see there being content left on the table that they finish up and release after the game is out.

Me too dude. I remember playing SMRPG as a kid and the strategy guide always recommending Bowser over Geno for his raw attack power. I followed that advice on my first playthrough, but went back to Geno every time after with no regrets.

Gotta be honest, my eyes usually glaze over whenever issac comes up but I'm starting a get a lil more jazzed about him upon thinking about it more.

Do we think he'd be like robin and have a standard sword moveset with some spells for specials, or do you expect like plants and geokinesis for his normals?

If they skip Gen 7 and go straight to Gen 8 for DLC Pokemon, I think that definitely confirms "Sakurai hates Pokemon from generations that are prime numbers" theory.

a friend checked his facebook account (public, no private info at all) and our leaker seems like the average mid-age man that i sincerely doubt would have the skills required to perform such edits and to such lengths, he doesn't even seem to be the kind of people to be into games at all
he also writes in a similar fashion (aka: bad, with spelling errors) as it seemed on the snap text
which gives much more credibility to this leak

Mostly personal beliefs but it's also a blurry low quality image which is the backbone of fake leak 101. Sure there's tons of consistencies with legitmate materials but that just means that it's well planned out, not that it's real.

I love their videos, but they've never been on the top of my radar for verifying something like this. If they don't believe it, it has zero impact on what I'm seeing. I won't be surprised if it's fake because it falls under "too good to be true", but given what we have to go off I think it's real.

I don't agree. It's not like they're the be all end all. They're just like you and I except they put their discussions on YouTube. They'll talk about this soon enough, mark my words.

Tbh when echoes were announced I thought it'd be an easy way to push the roster close to 100 characters. The way theyve gone about picking them is both obvious yet bizarre to me. I'm assuming if they had a more development time characters like Felix would eventually get in. But regardless, I thought the echoes thing would get more padded out than it eventually did.

I'm guessing they weren't expecting echoes to be received quite as well as they were. When it comes down to it they're still really basic clones. Dark Pit wasn't exactly a well loved addition in Smash 4, so I can see them expecting a similar, but slightly more muted reaction. They may be genuinely surprised that people love the idea o echoes and are asking for more, in which case we could see a lot more for DLC.

Just to clarify, you know why it's blurry and low quality, right? It's a very zoomed in crop of an image of a wristband taken from a snapchat video. Not trying to sway you, just making sure you know the facts.

In my mind theres so much work that had to go into the things NOT related to the banner itself that if it was a fake its a andy kaufman esque bit where they establish a linkedin, work at a place that handles marketing materials for bandai namco, create a snapchat that doesnt have to do with gaming otherwise, create a new render for the god damn grinch movie thats coming out later and then creating a whole set of instructions on how to put this marketing material together.
This doesnt even touch the parts of the leak that actually involve moving literally every character creating more of the banner to fit characters on despite the fact no one has a clean version of the banner without characters.

If this is fake its one of the most elaborate fakes we have ever seen in aspects that people havent tried to fake before and I would be both impressed and godsmacked at the amount of effort they underwent.

During the last months I have persuaded myself in my mind that Incineroar might be a cool fighter and a good addition to the roster. I haven't talked too much about him in these threads, but kind of prepared myself of defending him when he got revealed.

But I'm so fucking happy that he's nowhere to be seen. Ugly ass cat.

I don't think it depends on DQXI or if it should depend on it. Dragon Quest is the biggest third party IP still missing from Smash, it would be a no-brainer to include it in the list of Super Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter etc.
If Smash is a celebration of gaming, then I'd love to see Dragon Quest being included.

If this leak is real, my only hope would be DLC. :(

Because it doesn't seem like the video was meant to leak shit. Looks like it was just put out there to fool around the materials with a friend and the guy did a spectacularly bad job of covering up his trail on top of the thing going public.

I truly wonder how the miis will be handled in this game .From custom moves to costumes. I have a feeling they'll actually take a big back seat this time around and won't be as important to the game.
