It already is. Blackout ate Firestorm's lunch months ago.
We havent see anything of it yet and how it plays. People said the same thing about PUBG with Blackout. Games and BR game can exist next to eachother.
Maybe March is even better because people wanna try something fresh again in the BR scene.

so their battleroyale is coming out in March? Ouch, yeah I'm gonna say it's going to be too little too late by then. Def holding out on my purchase until after I see what it looks like, and hoping they got rid of the bullshit loot boxes

Just so I am clear.... all DLC content post launch will be free, correct?

This was my biggest complaint with past BF games, the community gets segregated and it becomes nearly impossible to play new maps on PC because the player base for DLC content just isn't there.

They should make the battle royale free to play... It will be a great way to introduce new players to battlefield

Its launching with singleplayer and one less map than BF1 but every upcoming map, weapon, gamemode will be free, I dont really see any reason to complain. DICE have stated multiple times that Firestorm wouldnt be there at launch, im excited to try it but it was never the reason i was interested in the game.

Yup, it's pretty clear. And I'm afraid that this way they are going to hurt the game. Instead of launching a complete package they want to spread thin its content.

Yeah I agree. I mean with the battle of Crete your looking at the middle of 1941, which seems a fine starting point for a game. Have some lesser known battles first, then your first major content drop (if they would have launched the game in March) would probably be the Battle of Wake Island/(Pearl Harbor as well?) and the introduction of the Americans and Japanese. That would get people hyped up.

Now you're basically give people a lot of lesser known battles at launch, and the first 3 content drops are going to be more lesser known battles. At the end of the day you're an entertainment product and in terms of content this BF feels very dry which is a shame.

Just give DICE some extra time EA, you have a good franchise with BF and they're just trying to kill it by bad management decisions from the top, purely driven by greed and making sure shareholders are happy.

People didnt knew any of the BF1 battles also.

I'll come back in March. Seems a wise move to me, cheaper and it'll have a huge amount of content. I can wait.

March does seem really late for Battlefield Battle Royale. That's getting close to the announcement of the next Call of Duty title late. Blackout will be in full swing.

Greece
Greece is always good and the battle for Crete is notorious, even the villagers participated defending the island. They scouted the sky and the moment the German paratroopers landing they killed them with sovels and bare hands.

TBH, I just want some cool infantry modes and basic TDM. Give me lots of weapons and upgrade options like BF4 and I'll be fine.

I know that goes against the whole vehicle based 'Battlefield'......of Battlefield. But the BF series always has the best gunplay. BF1 was a real letdown with so few weapons, upgrades and worthwhile levelling up.

This game would have been far better off launching in March or April with 10 maps. It would have owned the market and would be out the way of Anthem and The Division.

Jup all free. So new maps are playable longer then a week now.

Well I think this leaves me putting the game off till March. I was ok with a low number of maps and a battle royale mode but the low maps on their own is a disappointment. Maybe will grab after the first content update.

No BR at launch or at least close to launch seems like a poor decision, especially given how well Blackout is doing.

I agree that they really should push this game back further. As of right now it seems like they are trying to rush BFV out the door with the absolute bare minimum they need to justify its price tag.

I'll wait till March then. Game will feel much more complete. I'm not in the mood for being a paid beta tester for them this year.

No Rush at launch, limited even when available. BR in March. 2 new maps in the first 5-6 months.

I really wanna buy this but they sure are making it hard to justify that decision. And I still think working on a SP campaign is a waste of time and resources that should have been spent on MP.

Yeah, pass till March when its nice and cheap and the main reason to buy it is out (Revamped RUSH, and I guess BR).

Yeah but WWI was never widely used in games. WWII has been done a lot, an entire generation grew up on WWII games, so people are going to expect some new stuff but also definitely some recognisable battles. I think what DICE is doing with showing some lesser known battles first is great, but to keep people invested you have to dangle the correct carrot in front of them. I think the battle of Crete is a fine starting point for the base game, but not as the battle that gets people excited for the future.

Like if this roadmap showed Wake Island and the American/Japanese as the first content drop people would probably be a lot more excited then they are now.

This is going to be the Titanfall 2 of this year. I have never been this disinterested in a Battlefield game in my life. No BR at launch is the nail in the coffin.
I still enjoy BF1 a lot. To be honest I am not digging this new game at all yet. We'll see as it evolves though.

It's just so clearly being rushed to make holiday season that it is almost comical.

Rush being a limited time event mode, vehicle customization launching two weeks after release, a War Story about a tank crew debating the morality of their actions that sounds like the same thing as Battlefield 1's tank crew story and co-op launching late...

It's so hard being a die hard fan of this franchise right now. The game didn't need a month delay, it needed a good half a year in the oven.

Man, with every newsitem coming out about this game I get less excited.

Hard to imagine that a Big Battlefield title is coming out in less than a month and I don't care at all. This is coming from someone who build a new PC specifically for BF1.

So one map that was held back from launch for Chapter One, and then only one map for the entirety of Chapter Three? And the rest just looks like content that they couldn't finish for launch...

Well, I thought Tides of War would be the saving grace for this game, but this is pretty underwhelming.

Wow... why are they even releasing in November then? This isn't a case of continued support. It's a case of releasing an unfinished game. I might not like what's in BO4, but at least it's a finished product. Treyarch didn't promise something and not deliver.

The honeymoon period for BoBo will be done by then when it dawns on players that Activision have already moved onto new CoD. Looking forward to seeing what DICE bring to the table with tactical play, destruction, useful vehicles and class play to the BR genre. Plenty of room for people to innovate.

Yeah alot of people will look at something fresh again in the BR scene and try it out.
